It takes 10 tries to hook up to wifi then it keeps telling me that the amazon account I'm trying to sign in with doesn't exist.

I haven't had any problems. Are you using the included power adapter, heard of similar issues with people trying to power it using a usb port on the tv.
Also could be a router setting according to this:
"Well, I THINK I figured out my issue. I have a Netgear router, and I had the channel set to "Auto". I suspect that whatever channel it was trying to use in my living room (the stick was about 3ft from the router) was causing issues. In my bedroom the stick worked fine (further distance, I assume it's using another channel). I changed my router to use Channel 1, and BOOM, it started working just fine in my living room now. Might want to check what channel your router is set to and play around with that setting."

Cool, I have a Netgear router. I just chatted with Amazon customer service and they're sending me a replacement.

I haven't had any issues. One thing I noticed though is I changed my Amazon password on their website and my Fire Stick still works fine. I still can access all Amazon Prime video and even purchase rentals. Would have thought it would require a new login. But guess since it stays up its still on old login.
