Racism in America and how do we compare to other countries

OK so we have a 70% white nation with a Black president. The rest of the 30% being 12% black, 15% Hispanic and the other 3% being Asian, Pacific Islander, Indian...
Black attorney general, black caucus, Asian Caucus and a Hispanic Caucus.
What other countries has someone of other race on their cabinet much well someone of different race/ethnicity/religion running the entire show?
Is there any other country that compares to the U.S.?
I would think countries in Europe, Canada and Australia have the best chance of being diverse.

The entire country is obsessed with race at the moment. Seeing as this is a political board, to not also discuss race would be effectively burying our heads in the sand.
But that's SOP for liberals.

Legitimate question, IMO.

Do any free and fair democracies? Depends upon your definition. Tony Blair and Gordon Brown were both from Scotland and they governed the primarily English UK. Sarcozy was from a Jewish Hungarian family and led France. Angela Merkel was born and raised in East Germany but leads a largely West-centric united Germany. Many of Latin America's leaders are primarily of European descent (Spanish, German, Italian, etc) while most South Americans are darker-skinned mestizos.

quote:I think his point is, if we are truly a racists nation then there is no way for a black man to get elected when blacks only make-up 13% of the total US population. That black man had to get a bunch of white votes to win......twice.

We know where those white votes didn't come from though, don't we? Amiright? Amiright?

Race is currently at the forefront of our collective national thoughts. Its one of those things where I hear about it and read about it but don't really see it or experience it. I mingle with people outside my race daily and try to be polite and accommodating to them and as a rule they respond with a similar effort towards me.
For me racism is like the rocks in the Kuiper Belt. Its there but not much of an influence upon my daily life.
