Dashcam captures first wreck...I don't live in Russia

I think everyone should have a dashcam. Paid $60 for this from China. It's a piece of crap, but it records just fine. Luckily no one was injured. A split second difference could have turned nasty:

The officer was impressed. He watched the video then let me go. Didn't even take my information as a witness which was surprising.

I have been thinking of ordering one simply because so many people don't pay attention driving these days. Always texting or some shite.
I had to sit through a red light twice today because some fat bitch in her SUV was texting and didn't hear everyone honking at her. She pulled away right as the light turned yellow.

Really don't need a witness after that. There was no possible right of way for the vehicle pulling out. Had to be on a cell.

That's really cool. Does it have a screen to playback immediately? I'm assuming that's how the cop saw it?

I have the G1W-C dashcam. It's a cheap dashcam but the video looks great, and from your footage it looks like you have the same or the normal G1W.
Luckily I haven't had a use for it yet.

First time I used my Gopro I put it on the dash and was headed to go hiking, and some lady pulled in front of me. I hit the rear of her car. A week later a guy ran a red light and I had the camera with me.
A dash cam is probably a decent investment.

It won't be long before insurance companies are offering a discount to have these. I imagine we'll they'll be a feature in many cars in about 5 years.

Yes, it has a screen on the camera. It records to micro sd card, so you could play on your phone too if capable.

Yes. It's the G1W. I should have gotten the capacitor model because the battery didn't last as soon as I got it.
