Maybe, maybe not. Most would say at this given time the LSU situation would be better for a coach to walk into than UM. Yet they are on the verge of having Jim Harbaugh as a coach. Maybe even Miles with the right offer. It is a gamble for sure.

That's what's written to this point. The adage time will tell is very true right now

Well, the last time he stuck around and didn't take the Michigan job, the following season turned out pretty great.

If not for the re-match, he'd have gotten his raise.

I respect the fact that Michigan has been patient. They have waited for their prime candidate, assuming it is Harbaugh, to fulfill contractual obligations. The delay also allows any secondary candidates, such as Les Miles, to remain loyal to their current employers through the completion of the college football season.

Michigan appears willing to trade recruiting time for a coach who might be able to create enough excitement among recruits to make up for some of the lost time. I think this is a better approach than Nebraska took with their hiring of Mike Riley.

This was my immediate reaction to those reports. He has no intention of leaving because he has no reason to leave because he has no offer.

I have no intention of leaving my current job. I like my job and my employer. If someone called me tomorrow and offered me a job with much more money, I might be gone.

If miles leaves for Michigan it will be for the same or less money with more money for assistants

WAT?

I'm pretty sure Miles' agent can read:

"JH is UMs first and only choice. And they want him him bad enough to give him $8 million!"

But if they dont get him, well aw shucks, "Les, how about $5 million. I mean for momma and all?"

THAT AINT GONNA HAPPEN. Miles no longer needs money. Its now a pride thing. And Miles is one very prideful man. He will not grovel for that job, and at this point, thats what its come down to

1) Rich Rod
2) Brady Hoke
3) Harbaugh
4) the other Harbaugh

Then, maybe, just maybe, UM crosses their fingers, and winks at one another, while pinky swearing that Miles was their top priority all along.

If miles were to go to Michigan it would not be about money. It would be to write the last chapter of his coaching career at the place where it all started.

I don't think saban is worth 7M at LSU tomorrow, tbh. These salaries are getting absurd.
I agree with you. I understand that some coaches are making this kind of money and the market value of head coaches is in the millions of dollars, but it really is getting out of line in my opinion.

Harbaugh will be wearing blue next year and Michigan already knows it-just can't say it yet. You really think a big job like Michigan would wait this long to get a coach in there UNLESS they know what they are waiting for?

Harbaugh is "off like a prom dress" to Michigan!!

If Harbaugh gives up 1 out of only 32 jobs in the world, he's a moron. These NFL coaches who have had any success at all are extremely hot commodities for other NFL jobs when open. That's why there are so many retreads in the NFL circles. Most just can't hack it. Harbaugh has proven he can when in the right circumstance.

He isn't going to Michigan. It's leverege.
