Former San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike Holmgren is highly interested in becoming the 49ers’ next head coach, according to a source who spoke with Holmgren.

Whether or not that means anything remains to be seen.

That pic in the article is funny.

Never knew Sammy Sosa was #85 for the 9ers.

Holmgren is a heck of a coach. It would be a great hire for San Fran.

I agree, but only if Joe Gibbs doesn't want the job.

Holmgren is a complete moron who has shown a complete inability to evaluate quarterbacks. Only a complete idiot would choose to start Seneca Wallace over David Greene.

Holmgren's failures with Seattle and Cleveland prove that he can't coach.

Maybe Greene wasn't good

I'm confused.

Is Mile the brother of Mike or something?

I can't even remember who david Greene is and Wallace had like a 15 year career so it was probably a good decision

SF can only go down if Harbaugh leaves. Prior to this year he had 3 straight NFCCG and was 5 yards from a Super Bowl Title. Incredible.

Well there's a somewhat of a caveat in the highlighted given his offense is in total shambles and has been an immensely underachieving unit (led by the guy he labeled the best player in the 2011 draft who has gotten worse every year under his tutelage) and he has little involvement regarding the redeeming part of the team. He won't finish this year with a winning record.

I doubt SF would make a great hire but I question if Harbaugh will always inevitably lose his teams.
