IMO, Harbaugh is a good coach who is not nearly as good as people are making him out to be.

Haven't read the entire thread so I'm not sure how good people are making him out to be but it's hard to argue with his results at SF given how f'ed up that organization was when he arrived.

As for Stanford, the results speak for themselves. Andrew Luck or not, his results there were pretty unbelievable.

Many of his former players openly talk about what a douche bag dickhead Saban is.

Eh, you may have had selective hearing in those conversations.

Although I have only met Saban a handful of times, I do know at least 50 of his former players very well. They all say the same thing.

Was he a dick as a person?

Major

Would you unquestionably follow him into war and listen to every single direction he gave you?

Harbaugh went 12-1 at Stanford, freaking Stanford. Saban has only ever had one season better than that. Harbaugh has also shown he can win and win big in the NFL. I say Harbaugh is a better coach. Pete Carrol too

Winning in the NFL doesn't matter when it comes to winning in CFB.

You can be a good CFB coach and be a bad NFL coach, and vice versa.

Harbaugh was a good college coach at Stanford. He'd take Michigan back to annual top 10 rankings. But until he wins a few National Titles, he has nothing on Saban in terms of CFB.

For all those harping on Stanford not being that bad, you should also recognize that unlike Bama and most Southern schools for that matter, you require to be an actual student-athlete at places like Stanford.

This significantly limits the pool of players available to their coach, which is why what Harbaugh did was impressive.

This is unlike Les, Saban, Meyer, etc where they can take kids like Lacey or worse that have no business being admitted to a community college, much less a 4-year university.

All that said, Harbaugh has the potential to be as good as Saban IMO, but Saban has proven it.

C ' s situation really pissed me off those days. I'll never forget one practice where he got nailed in practice and the staff didn't say shite.....he got pissed and they all just looked the other way. Guy was super talented and Haffner screwed him.

I think fate found a better calling for him anyhow

I've read several comments where people seem to equate them.....bullshite

Saban is the best coach in NCAA history with an unreal trophy case. Until Harbaugh matches that level of success, it's all idle chatter.

Saban is not 'Saban' - not the way you present him and some others perceive him. He didn't magically get better when he went to Bama but what he did get was assistance in recruiting players he didn't have here (REC$$$$), scheduling advantages he'd have nowhere else, and refs in his team's back pocket. It is sad that folks like you worship him so - he's good, but not 'that' good. If he was, what does that make Miles, whom always takes him to the wire or outright wins, even with all the advantages Saban/Bama has? People need to stop swinging from his pubes already.
