I think this is a great opportunity for Sony to release it on Video on Demand.

Universal had this idea with Tower Heist years ago and caved when cinemas said they would refuse to carry the film if Universal put it on Video on Demand.

Here we have a scenario where cinema chains had already decided to drop the film before Sony wanted them too.

The idea was that you could get the film in your home for about 50 bucks, considering what the wife and I spend more than that easily when we go out to see a movie, I would have gladly payed this to sit in my own home.

This film could get that on the table again.

Wonder how that differs from other movies. Beginning to think that this was a giant publicity stunt. Before it was held out of theaters I had never heard of it, never seen a promo for it....
