The woman gets all the say here. She chooses to have sex (this bill makes exception for rape), she chooses to abort or deliver the baby, and she can choose whatever she wants to do to the father and still get the support she wants/needs, regardless of her choices.

A buddy of mine is getting divorced because his wife is leaving him for a man she's been having an affair with for almost 10 years. She's a horrible mother but wants 50/50 custody and is going to be getting more than half of his salary when everything is said and done. He is the victim but she gets everything she wants. It's just not right.

If you believe that abortion is wrong because it is killing an unborn child, then the "it's her body" argument shouldn't hold much weight (except if her life is in danger), so an argument for paternity rights should be considered.

But it can fix thousands of more wrongs that will likely happen because of that irresponsibility. I guarantee if I transported any of you hardcore anti-abortion people into an alternate reality where there has never been an abortion, you'd be begging to come back pretty instantly.

I would take that bet since it seems you base your opinion on your cynical views of society. You basically saying that some people are just to stupid to reproduce so they need to be stopped.

I like to think that a society that values life at the very 1st stages would also value life throughout all stages. I think part of the reason for the high murder rate in certain communities is bc they have the feeling that their life or the lives of others really are not that valuable.

From a woman's perspective, I do think that the father should have a say in whether the couple's baby lives or dies. I do have an issue with how this bill is worded and with the domestic violence part and perhaps that can be worked on and altered. The life and safety of both mother and baby are important. I despise women who deny the fathers any rights but then go to great lengths to make sure they get every penny of child support they can squeeze out of him. Whatever animosity there is (and I'm not referring to violence here, but a more or less 'normal' divorce, if there is such a thing) is between the spouses, and the baby has no fault.

(1) LeonPhelps, anybody ever stuff a butternut squash up your arse?
Because let me guarantee you, passing it is an """inconvenience""".

Welcome to a mild form of childbirth.

(2) LeonPhelps, have you ever received multiple blood transfusions (maybe in conjunction with trying to pass that butternut squash)?
Because I'll assure you related complications are an """inconvenience""".

Transfusion related Hepatitis, AIDS, reactions, etc.? They happen.

(3) LeonPhelps, have you ever undergone Abdominal Surgery?
Because I'll promise you, it is indeed an inconvenience.

Hurts like hell.

(4) Ever had surgical complications?

Make #(3) feel like child's play.

(5) Ever die during a medical procedure? You know . . . . my guess would be . . . . no.
No, it is pretty damn obvious you have not died during a medical procedure!

Why? . . . . .

Because if you had, you at least know it damn well was an """inconvenience""".

According to you, being a woman is an "inconvenience" because a woman's natural function is to have the baby.

It takes both sexes to create a baby.

The father should have an equal say in whether the mother is going to abort his future child.

Is that alternate reality the far away galaxy where you come from?

Well that bro is just dumb as rocks.

If a man has a wife who cheats on him for 10 years then he clearly can't find a lawyer who will fairly represents his interests. This seems like a case of dumb people complaining they are dumb.

Dumb or not, she's taking him to the cleaners. He's the victim, so writing it off as him being stupid or oblivious doesn't do anything.

He's a really nice guy who loves his kids and was trying to make things work with his wife, even though she was the one breaking up the family, and she's getting everything she wants.

The point was to express how women often times get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to kids and divorce, even if they are the guilty party. It takes a man and a woman (or at least their reproductive organs) to make a child (normally - weird things going on in science these days), and to deny the man a say in whether or not his progeny lives or dies is a shame.

That's bullshite and any man who puts his wife - a cheating wife at that - ahead of his kids gets what he deserves.

He's not the victim.

He's playing the martyr and not doing right by his kids so he can think he's a good guy...without actually being the good guy.

Stupid bill is stupid. They should not have to ask permission.

However, if they get knocked up and keep the kid, even though the father wants her to have an abortion, the father should not have to pay for the kid.

Well ok then. You're clearly not a rational person so I'll drop it. Carry on.

That's why little boys like you get made fun of.
