The Sacramento Kings are still interested in Smith, a source told The Detroit News. The man with final say, Van Gundy, turned down the Kings proposal over the summer - one that amounted to a pu pu platter of talent relative to Smith's, as he wanted a chance to see if he could unlock all of Smith's versatility and turn it into consistency.

Smith has gotten off to a slow start, although he had his best game of the season in Sacramento on Saturday night, with 21 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, and five blocks - in front of Kings owner Vivek Ranadive, the man who was behind acquiring Smith from the start.

Vivek is the right kind of crazy. Tear down the West make it easier for the Pels.

Vivek is awesome for people who aren't Kings fans. Boogie may end up choking him out.

I just don't get the fascination some have with that dude. Sure he has talent but he plays like a moron. He makes Antoine Walker look like Dirk with his shot selection.

Pairing Rudy Gay and J Smooth seems like a great idea.

I just want to see it and the 4 on 5 basketball. I can imagine Rudy and JSmoove fighting over who gets to be the cherry picker.

He would be a perfect fit for that franchise.

Smith/Gay/Cousins/Collins/McLemore.

That will be some efficient basketball

This is literally the perfect fit for their new 4 on 5 ball.

As much as I would like to unload Smith, taking a pile of shite back from the Kings isn't exactly worth it.

The Kings should be looking to take whatever they can to dump his contract.
