No. They didn't hack the DOD. They hacked Sony. And the threats weren't "cyber."

I think this all part of a brilliant promotional campaign.

How better to promote a movie then to threaten to kill people for seeing it.

I am sure people will see it either way....I just can't believe North Korea can censor American Cinema even a little.

It'll work. Stand up to Kim Jong by watching this movie! They gonna get paid.

ANYONE who went to see that on Christmas Day rather then Unbroken should have been shot on sight. For that reason alone, I wish they would have kept it.

But, since I plan to see Unbroken on Christmas Day I guess I'm safer

I don't get why this movie is supposed to be so special? I was a little interested until I heard Angelina Jolie was directing. Now I'm probably never going to see it.

unbroken.. From the previews it looks poorly directed, overacted and mis-cast. Even the bird is a pretty boy.

I'll still see it out of respect for a remarkable human being, though. Incredible book and story.

How does Sony get hacked this often? In all of my years of following security and hacking, I've never seen a target get bent over more than Sony. Everyone else just gets hit with a DDOS here and there. Sony gets a major breach once a year.

Sony Pictures Entertainment is an American subsidiary company of Sony. Not only that but Sony Pictures Entertainment is made up of studios that were American-founded but later purchased by Sony.

It's about as American as you can get while still being technically majority-owned by Sony.

This. We couldn't get Gary McKinnon, Mitnick or hire Robert Tappan Morris to create the god of all worm viruses?

Poor idea to make the movie in the first place but since they made it knowing this was possible it's a little disappointing they caved to the pressure after the fact.
