I think Tolkien was deeply religious and designed a lot of his writing around theology. That would probably be the similarity. Revelations is some pretty theatrical stuff for sure though. It's probably part of the reason that the Seventh Seal is such a bad arse movie.

A lurching downturn in the economy that causes the world financial system to break down.

You said "event", so... a terrible stock market crash.

He was and he did. Him and C.S. Lewis worked together at Oxford and collaborated on a lot of shite. Tolkien actually hated the Narnia shite because he thought the religious allegory was too blatant.

Also, I looked up where they studied together because I couldn't remember. I did NOT know this off the top of my head and do NOT want anyone to think that I did, that's what assholes do.

I don't know if it's true or not, but someone once told me that Tolkien complained about the Narnia stories being "too childish."

I read it in an article I found on reddit. I think the criticism wasn't that it was too childish, just too blatantly religious. Tolkien liked more subtle themes. Anyway, back to Nostradamus quatrains:

The three concubines will fight each other for a long time,
The greatest one the least will remain to watch:
The great Selin will no longer be her patron,
She will call him fire shield white route.

We were at the peak of the Cold War with Russia. LHO was thought to be a Russian spy. I doubt most of the world didn't care that the leader of the free world was assassinated.
