I may seriously try to go sometime next spring. Would be nice to be one of the first to visit after the lifting of the embargo, but now's not a good time.

Hopefully not. They'll double in price the second that happens.

Every bit of this has already happened.

Eta: and 90% are fake, and the quality of a true Cuban isn't as hallowed as it used to be. There are equals/better options from legal countries

My go to stick is a Punch Punch and it's still about $250 a box. So the price hasn't gone up that much.

Equals maybe but not better. The quality control of Habanos does leave a bit to be desired sometimes. The really good ones are still really good though.

About time. I was lucky to have gone about 10 years ago and Havana was crawling with tourists from Canada, Denmark, Australia, etc. There hasn't been a good reason for the embargo in a while now.

The gov was probably just waiting for the Castro bros to die, but it apparently won't ever happen. So we may as well make money off of them.
