Prolly not due to needing guards over bigs. More likely to see Epps over those two unless they feel Mickey can man the 3 for stretches.

I'm just assuming we won't be able to play Mickey at the 5 at any point.

Need to play Malone some and go big. Could play a zone in that scenario with Mickey at the "3".

He can still defend the rim and UAB is not a good three point shooting team. Unfortuantely I suspect Epps and Bridgewater will play plenty before Malone.

Why unfortunately? Bridge had been really solid this season.

I really see this being a potential close game if both Gray and TQ are out. It will be a good time to get young guys meaningful minutes.

Has Epps had an injury or is he just not ready? After 2 games, he looked like someone who was going to be a consistent contributor but then vanished on the road trip. He has nice length and seems athletic. Its so hard to get basketball updates......

He was injured for a while. Sometime before the Virgin Islands games he went out with injury. He was supposedly ready to go against Sam Houston St but did not play. I'd fully expect him to play significant time Thursday and moving forward.

Did not mean unfortunately as a slight to Bridgewater. I would like to see Malone play some and Odo play a few more minutes than he does. Bridge had like 4 fouls in 6 minutes the other night.

@SEC_Craig: Average of SEC's basketball SOS is 59.8 in @ESPN RPI. Tops that of Big Ten (126.1), ACC (128.6), Pac-12 (143.3) and Big 12 (158.6)

I need SoS to explain this apparent anomaly. I'm dumbfounded by it. Is it just a result of still a small sample size?

Some upsets against good teams + what upsets have happened have been to bad teams, but not horrible teams (i.e. very few losses to RPI 200+ teams).

It's strength of schedule... What is there really to explain?

I will say LSU has played some teams with "inflated" W-L records so maybe that is just across the board? Likely, we have just played decent teams.

On Josh Gray’s injury…

That is concerning.

When I looked at UAB's results a few weeks ago I was thinking they would be a total walk in the park. Now I am a bit concerned as they seem to be playing better of late. I am especially concerned about a decent 3 point shooter getting hot and that could be Robert Brown, a 6-5 guard.

Robert Brown was the one that worried me also... If we have Q playing, he guards him all game. If not, I don't know who will...

Epps? Regardless, we need to send a lot of help defense at him and not let him get off clean 3's, even if it means giving up better looks at 2's. Could be the place for Eddlestone to make a contribution as well.

He's only shooting 29% from three, but I'm worried with his size getting into the lane.

I could easily see us going 1G4F for extended time.

Against an opponent that already struggles with defensive rebounding that would seem like a smart play. Tigers should get a lot of 2nd chance points unless they shoot a very high upfront percentage.

A lot of that strength of schedule is Kentucky playing like 5-6 top 25 teams, UF several, then every other team has played 1 or 2 ranked teams as well

UK has played 3 top 25 teams; UF has played only 2
