According to ESPN, U of H is talking to the Big 12 about joining. If this happens, would the Big 12 take another team to get into a conference championship game?

Cincinnati, Memphis, and Central Florida have to be the front runners.

With Tulane and other schools in the next tier.

I mean, UCF is almost as close to the Texas schools as Cincinnati and West Virginia

This would pretty much officially turn the AAC back into Conference USA.

UConn would have to beg the ACC to let them in.

Why not? Big market, in Texas and a coach to be excited about.

If Houston can talk their way in I think adding an extra team is easy. Many options would be better than Houston so if you are one team away you have your choice between Cincinnati, Memphis, Colorado State and hell why not try and steal Arkansas? Arkansas has been the punching bag of the SEC West, they could fair better in the Big 12 and they have been discussed before. Not saying it is likely but hey if you are going to expand aim higher than Houston.

Link?

People who think conference realignment was done are in denial. There are still P5 worthy schools in non P5 conferences and quite frankly, there is still money to be made. UConn and Cincinnati are never going to sit by and let their programs become irrelevant in non P5 conferences.

Cincinnati probably ends up in the Big 12, and UConn in the ACC.

Memphis could end up in one of those as well.

Colorado State is a P-5 worthy school. Houston, Memphis, Cincinnati, and Colorado State should all be added to the Big 12. Get to 14.

Would make it a fricking hell of a basketball conference, and you'd have decent additions for football and you can have a conference championship game. Everyone wins.

I think UConn should be on the B1G's radar. The ACC would have to add somebody else too if they added UConn right, because with Notre Dame, it would give them an odd number?

No it isn't. Memphis was a top 5 CFB market AGAIN this season.

They'd have to add another, yes. Can't have 15 in football, I wouldn't imagine.

Are they really better adding two crap teams rather than just staying where they are?
