I've decided to Cerakote my A Bolt after the season is over and can't figure out what to do color scheme-wise. I like the midnight green, burnt bronze, and the blacks but not sure what combo to do. The only things I'm certain of are to keep the chrome bolt receiver and the gold trigger.

Here's a stock photo of mine:

The actual gun is in my avi...

A-Bolt is a fine gun. I wouldn't change it.

cerkote the barrel and add what ever color heat shrink vinyl you want to the stock.

That's kinda why I want to protect it... I love A-Bolts. X-bolts and the new ABIII are horrendous though.

To the other poster who suggested the shrink wrap: I really don't like the idea of wrapping it. I think a solid coat is the way to go.

ETA: just found this. Not an AB, but I like the concept. Thoughts?

That's a little loud for my taste.

Bourg: I've looked at the website, and the color combos I mentioned earlier looked great on the ARs and pistols. I just don't know if that will translate to the AB like I hope. I was hoping someone may have already done one similar to what I was looking at.

I like how some of the AR manufactures will mix the Sand/light grey color with the black. I think it looks really good.

I do not understand the advantage of cerakoting the stock of the gun if it is a composite stock though.

Because it looks cool... I was planning on doing it in phases though. Do the barrel, bolt handle, trigger guard, and magazine hinge first. If I'm satisfied with that, I won't touch the stock. If not, then I'll do something with it.

Personally, I wouldn't do it to a hunting rifle but I would a bench gun. I view my hunting rifles as tools and my bench guns as toys. Just me though.

Would a vinyl wrap cause corrosion concerns?

You could do a hard chrome look and mimic the stainless A-bolt Stalker.

Yeah I would think it would on the metal parts. I would also think it would flake eventually.
