I agree with OP to a point. But in longer run (heading into 2015) a win makes us 9-4 and gives us a lot of momentum into 2015. Some SEC teams will lose thier bowls, let's say Ole Miss, Ark and Miss ST do, we then will likely rank ahead of them going into 2015 (ark no matter what I think) and team and fan excitment is always good..right?

Actually sir you are a half wit. Because you are too wrapped up in yourself to understand and appreciate LSU football. Please create another alter. This one is stupid.

Ill take Golson over jennings and (sigh) harris. Harris has all the physical tools, but doesnt seem to be there mentally, yet. Hopefully that changes by next season but it wouldnt surprise me if it didnt

LSU's #4 ranked defense is either going to play a turnover machine in Golson, a redshirt freshman with barely any experience, of both. Even though ND's pass defense sucks, I would take neither's QB situation going into this game. What I will take, is Fournette all the way. This will be his career best game.

I care about the one thing everyone in here salivates over...beating alabama. Which usually means winning the west, going to secc, etc.

I used to be a Positiger like some of you. Turned every bad situation into a positive one, but that tank has been exhausted and now Im running on Unleaded Boo Boo Bengal.

Lets face it, our QB situation is a mess. Aside from Mett (thank god) we've been absolutely atrocious at that position. If the rest of our team struggled I probably wouldnt care too much and just accept our team for what they are, but its hard to not be a BBB, when you spend sundays watching former LSU players fill up the stat sheets.

Style points arent what I seek, I seek competence at the QB position, and unless I see it, I wont be as optimistic about 2015 like some of you positigers

I'm just looking forward to a good game between a couple of good teams. Only way we lose is by the final score.

LSU beats ND and the fanbase will say blah blah whatever, ND sucks. Were supposed to beat this team. LSU struggles or (god forbid) loses, Miles gets roasted and we get a weeks worth of send off letters in the newspaper.

We should be beat them. The potential is there for us to beat them soundly. We have a big talent advantage and our strength (ground game) is their defensive weakness. That said, I fully expect for us to struggle on offense, for reasons that we've all rehashed over and over again.

A LOT of people.

Why not just watch the football game for the sake of watching the football game - and forget about all the bullshite, and just sit back and enjoy a win? Why is that so hard for so many? Why do so many LSU fans have the propensity to turn everything into a negative?

If LSU wins, it's a Victory.

If LSU loses to Notre Dame (not likely), it's a loss to a prestigious football program and then LSU will turn around and sign a top-10 class.

The future is bright for LSU, that is NOT our sun going supernova.

Dude, get out and get a life. Go hunting or fishing.
No need worry about what people might think of Les after the bowl game. Most important part is getting more practice time for the kids coming back.

Pretty much. This is a team that could have(should have?)defeated FSU on the road. In other words, a viable opponent, better than several teams in the SEC. Hopefully the offense continues to show the improvement that sprouted for the aTm game and carries over into the spring and fall. However, a win over ND is never an ugly thing.

We should use our bread and butter, out of the I and mix in easy pass plays here and there. Throw in an zone read and a sweep and we will be winning and looking good doing it.

That would be winning and also building/ developing the QB at the same time. I think you could find your "win" in that lose/ lose situation.

No that is clearly lose lose. I don't see why anyone should be excited by LSU beating a team with a terrible rush defense. Especially when LSU is able to do it with their bland offense just because the other team is that bad.

It is like running all over Texas A&M, who hasn't?

So you are saying you will be disappointed if we win attaching the opponents where they are weak?

Makes all the sense in the world

They lost 4 straight to end the season. I highly doubt they are better than 7 sec teams. FSU would have 3 losses in the west.

Not disappointed with the win, not excited by it though.

Which is what I said. It is all fine and dandy running over teams that have a rush defense mimicking a 3-a high school. Unfortunately we play a bunch of games each year against teams that can stop the run. And we lose those.

Maybe if we found a middle ground of quarterback play we would be better off. Jennings is hard pressed to even look good against Sam Houston, so we know damn well Les will not give him work.
