So you are of the opinion that all these players come in NFL ready and just hang out at LSU until they get drafted?

Thank you one less dipshit in the stands. Keep your old arse at home. True LSU fans will go to the games and get to see the players that Miles helped devlop into great players and great young men.

Yes. I just assumed the stars would never be aligned again as they were then. Those 5 or 6 teams that had to lose to let us sneak in to the championship game may never all fall dead again on the same day . And you can take it from me, good ole les barely escaped the hangman that year.

Hard to say.

IMO Beckham, Landry, Hill, Patrick Peterson, Mingo, and Matthieu would all be in the NFL regardless of where they went to school. Inferior coaching at Tennessee Tech or some other random school wouldn't prevent players with that level of talent from reaching the NFL. LSU may have augmented draft position, but nothing short of injury, substance abuse or legal issues was going to keep a Beckham-level talent out of the NFL. Just my opinion.

I really admire the OP for his conviction. One year in a row of not winning the BCS title and OP is like, "Frick it, I'm out!".

Not to worry. My old arse will be not be in the stands with you and Good Ole Les. I am still busy trying to get copies of the miles-jj pictures. Miles may be a great developer of character, and a couple of his recent successes come to mind immediately. As far as my #, I'm sure there must be a 1 or 2 star player to make the nfl under miles, I just can't remember who it is fight now.

How many players during the miles era do you feel were coached up enough to play in the NFL that would not have had the pure talent to play without his guidance ?

if they went to the NFL they were coached up.

You are all over the place. Are you saying that if you are a 4 star player that made the NFL through LSU, they were destined there from the start?
If that's true then why do so many 4 star players at other schools not go to the NFL?

did you know that LSU needed about 8 teams to lose in the last 2 weeks in 2003 to get in the NC game?

probably not

so they were going to fire him right after winning his 2nd SEC West title and an SEC championship?

considering Miles doesn't really recruit that many 2* players...yeah, the number isn't going to be high

Morris Claiborne was probably the lowest ranked player out of HS (2* at one point) that I can remember that became a high draft pick under Miles

so are you criticizing Miles for only recruiting talented players?

Joe Barksdale is a shining example. Came in as a DL, was moved to OT and became a third rounder then a starter in the NFL.

Then you can start rattling off guys in the League who came up under Miles' regime.

Lamin Barrow
Odell Beckham, Jr.
Al Blue
Mike Brockers
Ron Brooks
Mo Claiborne
Lavar Edwards
Ego Ferguson
Jeremy Hill
Bennie Logan
Tyrann Mathieu
Danny McCray
Kiki Mingo
Kevin Minter
Pat Peterson
rueben Randle
Eric Reid
Stevan Ridley
Perry Riley
Russell Shepard
Tharold Simon
Trai Turner
Al Woods
James Wright
Craig Loston

So yeah, I'd say that a number of players have been "coached up" by the staff.

You miss the point . How many LSU players did not have had the talent to play in the NFL, but made it due to the coaching Miles' staff gave them ?
Kids that weren't 4 or 5 stars out of high school. Get it now ?

this is absolutely impossible to know

do you not get that?

a 3* might have the talent of a 5* out of HS, just under evaluated or missed by recruiting sites

Bennie Logan and Michael Brockers probably owe a good amount of their development to their choice to attend LSU. Other developmental "home runs" over the Miles tenure, just off the top of my head, include Mo Claiborne, Kelvin Sheppard, Perry Riley and James Wright

But I suppose Miles deserves no credit for any of those.
