Are we finishing 8, 9, or 10 this year? Last year? You're scenario is flawed.

I never said they hAd to make the playoffs.

Lets look at us:
2012- finished what? 14th?
2013- finihed 15th
This year? Maybe 20th?
If we cant crack the top 10 next year? Then i dont see the justification for keeping him.
That would be 1 major bowl game over the last 8 years.

No, as i did with les and nick, id give them a pass the first year or two depending on the level of the program.

Where are you getting playoffs? I never said that as a requirement.

But for the most part, if we arent on the edge of cracking a major bowl after the first 4 years of a coach, then yes, i think we should move on.

you said BCS....since there is no BCS i assumed you meant playoffs.

apparently you just mean any bowl the YOU deem worthy

you would've probably wanted to fire Bear Bryant after the 1970 season

Yes it is. Josh said that "if LSU doesn't finish in a top bowl or playoffs four years in a row". You threw in the "if a coach finishes 8, 9, or 10 four years in a row" he will get fired.

In Josh's scenario, he would not be looking to fire the coach if they finished top 10. Choctaw's scenario had a coach finishing top 10 four year's in a row and getting fired. That's not what Josh proposed.

Hilarious. I would all hope we know what major bowls are. Tell me what part of my thought process you find illogical.

so you think a coach should make the playoffs every 4 years now or get fired.

What are your expectations?

Michigan? You think these 2 programs are on the same level and have the same advantages?

Mike Shula and Alabama finished in the top 5 of the country after the 2005 season. He was fired less than 330 days after that finish. How can Bama have such unrealistic expectations?

my expectations are to compete. unlike many on this board i understand that college football is cyclical and there will be down years. when your down years are still 9+ wins then thats not bad.

just an FYI....only 4 teams in the entire country have won 9+ games for the last 5 consecutive seasons.

i know...its so easy though. anyone can come in and win 10 games at LSU.

Lsu's resources are better than 90% of schools.
