Les thank you for putting the Michigan talk to rest. It was the right thing to do for the players, students, alumni and fans if you were not planning on leaving, which I personally am glad you are not.

Les I truly feel you have been a great asset to LSU and the LSU football program and to continue success. Here's to finishing the year out strong by blasting the gold off the Domer's and to round out a recruiting class that is at least a top 5 class.

Ok now it is time for you to take a hard look at the failures of this season and what you are going to do to fix them. In the 10yrs you have been coaching at LSU the cumulative QB play has been nothing short of atrocious. Other than Zach Mettenberger's play last year there is really nothing you can rest your cap on and claim success. Jarmarcus obviously was under your watch I call it a wash because he was recruited and signed by Saban so I will give you credit for coaching him but you didn't spot the talent. And Mett was completely under your watch coaching and recruiting but the fact of the matter he was a juco player you didn't recruit him out of high school either. The most important position on the field has been your most epic failures at the school, that needs to change. You seriously need to figure out why you have not been successful in coaching up the QB's that you recruit to LSU. Is it the talent that you are recruiting for your system, or is it not being able to coach up the talent you get. Whatever it is please figure it out and address it, that is one of the aspects that will lead to the success of the program going forward.

Les trying to do an honest self evaluation is one of the more difficult tasks in life, but you seriously need to do that and figure out what it is that has kept that part of the job from being successful. You obviously can recruit with 5 star guys like Perrilloux, Sheppard and the commitment Keil along with a host of 4 star guys that have come and gone at LSU. So it doesn't seem the recruitment side is the issue, it seems to be the coaching the players up once they get here that seems to be the problem. All the LSU faithful want is for you to address the problem and fix it and you are getting paid $4.5mil to do that. I truly feel that LSU will be in the college playoff's just about every year if you can figure that out and fix it.

Ok the flaming can begin!

It's funny people actually believed there was any chance of him leaving.

Exactly. And it's almost equally hilarious that anybody would think Michigan would want him.

He gets paid great and his friends(assistants)get paid more than anyone else in the country.
A win/win for him. LSU made him, not the other way around.
But.
He's a great guy, and I wouldn't change him but for a handful of coaches who probably aren't available.

Good job Dudebro2. I agree with everything you said. I hope Miles stays till he retires and continues to be successful as the head coach. I also agree with your assessment of the quarterback position. It really has been his only weak spot the ten years he has been here. It can get really depressing watching the LSU QBs struggle and then watching other QBs at other schools have somewhat decent success. Hopefully Jennings, Harris, Miles and the coaching staff can work out this past years kinks and have successful careers in the upcoming season.

Seer couldn't agree more, when things go wrong or not the way people want then some people tend to want to throw baby out with the bath water. Instead keep the baby and change the bathwater. Miles is a good coach, I don't think great but definitely good. Getting rid of Miles doesn't mean we will get someone that is more successful and prior to Saban and Miles we had an illustrious period of 15 years after Arnsparger that we couldn't find the right guy. If Miles could only self evaluate a little better maybe he could turn that good into great. Well let's hope that is the case.

Along with the use of the term "Germans" this ought to be a straight up ban-able offense giving the culprit an automatic 2 week break from getting to hang out with the rest of us adults.

Congrats on not doing so, I guess.

This is a message board, not fricking Twitter. The reason the board owners allow that many characters in a post is because, one would assume, they figured they'd be used from time to time. If they wanted to keep each post extremely short, I'd guess they'd lessen the number of available characters.

That being said, if someone has no interest, or attention span, to read something that has more than one paragraph, why not simply decide to not read it without feeling the need to say so? Who needs to KNOW that someone decided to not read a post? Likewise, while the forum certainly has its merits, a great search function is not one of them...so why does everyone feel the need to jump up someone's arse for re-posting a story that was posted earlier in the day? If you're already seen it, move on...maybe someone else has not.

And to the OP's original post...why would anyone even enter a thread that specifically states that if you know you're going to disagree find another post to read? Is it JUST to frick it up?
