Russell Goatbrook MVP Possibility
Posted by GeneratedAttitude on 12/15/14 at 4:58 pm02
Right now the early MVP race looks a little like this
1a. Steph Curry
1b.James Harden
3. Marc Gasol
4.Anthony Davis
but GOATBROOK has been killing it since his return from injury. He's averaging 25.8 pts with a 48% FG percentage 6.8 ast 5.8 rebs on the season along with an insane 33.15 PER. Now I know he's been out for most of the season but if he keeps up the pace and stays healthy throughout the rest of the season and the Thunder get a good seed in the playoffs and by good I mean 4-6 after the way they started I think he has a good chance.

Westbrook was my preseason choice, and then he got injured. I could still end up being right. It's tough to make the case for MVP with last year's MVP on the roster though.

KD would probably take too many votes from him or share the spotlight too much. KD's MVP was in large part due to him carrying OKC while Russ was out.

I don't think he has much of a chance of winning it because he has Durant on his team. I agree with your current top 4 though.

re: Russell Goatbrook MVP PossibilityPosted by htran90 on 12/15/14 at 5:13 pm to GeneratedAttitude
Its curry's to lose at this point. He's got a great supporting cast, but his numbers are very good.
48.7/40.6/92.5
23.7ppg
5.1rpg
7.7apg
33.4mpg
He attempts 16.8 shots a game and 7.6 of them are from 3 with only 4.6 fts a game.

It's December 15....

I agree, with his team playing like they are and him being the best player it'll be hard for people not to vote for him. Westbrook is hurt by Durant being on his team it'll be hard for people to vote for him due to that and peoples overall perception of him, even if he does have a better season than Durant. He should be in the discussion if he continues his play though.

I think it's important to remember that LaMarcus Aldridge was #1 in the MVP race at this point last year. Still a long way to go.

The obvious answer here is Lebron..

He went off again the other day. Would have been interesting to see him play those games he missed without Durant. Too bad he got hurt too, he can't make up that deficit.

Davis has been playing the entire time, idiot.
re: Russell Goatbrook MVP PossibilityPosted by Boomshockalocka on 12/18/14 at 1:35 pm to Reames239
PER doesn't care how many games have been played, idiot. Westbrook has played enough games to be eligible that's all that matters.

The more you play, the more chance you have to cool down, idiot.
The only thing I am think about when saying idiot like that is Dwight Schrute

Lebron's numbers are his lowest since his rookie year but they're arguably still better than any players mentioned in this thread.

Helps when you exert literally zero effort on defense like LeBron is
