This I can agree with. All things considered, UL gets shitty support from their city and the surrounding area.

good thing because most cajuns would run themselves insane with so many loses to teams like la tech and south alabama.

I agree with you 500%. Lafayette has some great aspects to it, but one of things I've hated the most is it's full of a "see and be seen" attitude by too many residents.

Too many in the "royalty/political" class won't attend a single game at Cajun Field, or a regular season or conference tournament baseball game, but the minute the Cajuns are in a bowl game or hosting a Super Regional, they're buying up tickets for them and their friends for the chance to have their mug in a local publication.

Don't get me wrong, Cajun fans are more than happy to take their money for those limited appearances, but it would me nice if they showed up at other times.

This is wrong on your part, though.

The "expected expansion" is an updated upper deck which will actually lower current capacity somewhat. And yes, getting rid of the 70's era press box and updating the stadium is needed

Now y'all are on your 4th in a row but you are also only in this game b/c Georgia Southern got fricked over by the NCAA and wasn't granted a waiver.

Not really. GS isn't eligible for a bowl game because it's their first year in FBS. Thats the rule. Their record and conference championship doesn't supercede the rule.

also, 11am vs 10am is a big difference even though its only an hour. 10am is just god awful for a football game.

I agree.

bought plenty of people to the game in East Carolina.

If they "bought" more than 5k is be surprised.

dude they got fricked. Pure and simple. You can pretend they weren't b/c "tha rulez" but the fact of the matter is they got boned by an outdated rule that was really only ever put into place to stop a transitional team getting to 6 wins via several FCS squads as they move up.

Fine. Disregarding the fact they knew what the rule was prior to the season, I agree they should have been allowed a bowl bid. It would make the Sunbelt look stronger anyway having them playing.

However, stop with your incorrect shite that we're only in a bowl game because GA Southern's appeal was denied. We would be in one regardless, and likely NOLA, as GoDaddy would have probably chosen GA Southern instead of Arkansas State.

No, Im not saying you are only in a bowl, I'm saying that's why you are in the NOLA Bowl.

I don't think they would have passed over a Sun Belt champ that went undefeated in conference and would getting into their first bowl ever.

Then you be wrong, very wrong. They would pass them up because they know UL will always bring more people than anyone else. Which is good not only for the bowl, but also the city in general.

SEC fans make fun of LSU fans dispersing after the 2nd quarter, LSU fans in turn come here to bullshite about Cajuns fan support. Vicious cycle.

Poor sales for the Cajuns are still better than what other teams would do

I agree and GS should be complimented for going through the conference slate undefeated. However, they are ineligible for a bowl this year as outlined in the bylaws of the institution they choose to participate. If they don't like it, they can appeal (which they did) or they can go back to FCS. I wonder if they would have appealed if they went 6-6 and in 4th place in conference?

I really don't get the idea that every kid deserves a trophy especially if it means taking away from one to give to another. I tell you what, if GS repeats next year, they can fricking have New Orleans.

That's a horrible analogy. You're comparing a participation trophy with a team that went undefeated in conference and won it outright over the Cajuns
