King Ranch has taught you well

Not many people see the appeal of a 6.2, and most don't want the extra $2500 price tag.
It's a way better engine for not much less MPG. Low end torque, very quiet. That engine will outlast that truck and the next one you put it in.
Does it really cost $2500 extra? Do they all come w/ AFM now?

GM pisses me right the hell off; they've had this issue since the C5 Corvettes.
All them high-priced DEEtroit engineers can't build a non-rocking seat?

Pretty sure they do

Better is subjective. More powerful, yes. Better? Who knows.

Maybe, but then again, no one on Earth has one more than a year old right now.

What different from the new 6.2 compared to the old one that has been around forever?

The new 6.2 (L86) is a modified LT1 (found in Corvette Stingray).

It is a modified LS3, the engine in the C6 corvettes.

My biggest thing was the afm hated it. That's why I bought the tuner. I had the dreaded oil burn issues and had new Pistons and rings put in at 40k the next day bought the intune and have ran 50k miles wo afm and with the performance tune and burn no oil now.

The new ones don't have that issue as far as I know.

Wasn't this originally based off the L94 that GM introduced in 2006?
This was my experienece with it, rock solid motor.

No they fixed it as of 2013. No more of those issues.

Besides the AFM clusterfrick, all of the LS based motors have been great.
The 6.0 in the HD trucks (lq4 maybe?) is the best pushrod gasser ever built IMO

I just want one for the rear door change in the ext. cab. I HATE the old style small doors.
Posted on 12/17/14 at 9:40 am to AlxTgr
My uncle just got a 2015 extended cab. The new style door is awesome. It's still small though.
The cab is more rigid now that they have the extra pillar to hang the door on and it should alleviate some of the creaky door problems chevys tend to get later in life. It's also safer if you plan on flipping your truck over.

Size is fine. I just hated the rear opening. Impossible to get shite out if someone parks close to you. Kid can't get out on his own. That kind of stuff.
