Dude is a terrific basketball mind.

It's not his fault the front office got a bunch of Stanford and Duke freshman to make their 2014 pick for them.

Nick Stauskas sucks, that's on you, SAC FO

Ranadive and Burkle..a very demanding operation.

Clash of idealogy..still unfair duration given especially with a very respectable W-L mark, and being without Cousins for 7 of the 13 Ls.

SacTown replaces Malone with Ty Corbin and looking at Vinny Del Negro as a permanent replacement. Things could definitely be worse for the Pels.

first thing I thought when i saw he got fired.

He'd probably come here save Monty's job then leave for a head coaching gig and everything would go to shite again.

Ranadivé and his man Chris Mullin (an official advisor) wanted more showtime, which reportedly led to tension between Malone and ownership.

...What he really wanted was more offense. The Kings are currently right at the league average, 15th in offensive efficiency at 103.6 points per 100 possessions, playing at what is a middle of the road pace of 95.7 possessions a game (16th in the league). Again, that’s without Cousins the past nine games and after D’Alessandro traded away Isaiah Thomas in the off-season. What bothered Malone more was the Kings’ defense, which at 104.2 points allowed per 100 possessions was 18th in the league.

...The biggest name being floated is George Karl (the quality coach fired by the Nuggets after a 57-win season), who has a big supporter in D’Alessandro from when both were in Denver. He certainly likes to pay up tempo. Two other names being mentioned as guys to watch are Mark Jackson and Vinny Del Negro. Neither of those last two are upgrades over Malone.

I don't think that's true at all. CP3 was the head coach that year.

I guess I should have clarified. He was coaching more than Monty

Just realized OKC is only a game behind us now. I know it's early but if this team can't string some wins together playoffs will be looking less and less likely.

OKC has won 6 in a row and imo will get pretty close to 55 wins. The one team the Pels have a chance to catch is Dallas and already 5 games back of them. Playoffs were always a very long shot this season(20%ish chance) and nothing that's happened so far this season has changed that.

I would love to bring Malone back. Can't see that happening though.

If I'm Dell, I'm selling him right now that this team has the talent to make a push this season. At this point the media is down on Monty. A Pelicans turnaround would be credited to Malone more than likely (which is a possible turn off to the potential of him coming in...Monty could feel threatened).
