It's not an exact science when human beings are involved. Coaches try to make the best personnel decisions to win the most games. When you look at it from that perspective, they did their best at that.

Harris was too green to throw out there starting out. Jennings appeared capable until the Mississippi game. He didn't give up on him (wise decision) and let him play the following game, where he struggled. He then put Harris in until we got to Auburn and he was obviously struggling. He put Jennings in ever since. By not giving up on him (like he did with J. Lee, in my opinion) he allowed him to step back in when Harris struggled. He's a rookie QB, it was bound to happen.

Blaming Miles for the decision aspect of the QB situation is pretty stupid. You put the guy in that will win you the most games. Period.

The biggest issue is that Mettenberger was a stop-gap for the QB position. In that period we did not recruit anyone of consequence at the QB position. Hence, we have a down year.

It's the Len Bias effect!! LOL

The VIP recruit the organization was relying on to continue the dynasty didn't show up on campus!...Just kidding. I'm digressing here....

Poor QB development
Poor QB talent assessment of high school recruits
Poor management of QB talent during season

Its because JL threw INTs in 2008 and messed up Les' mind.

Yep. And what we see now is an O that makes it really difficult for a young QB to get into any kind of rhythm. It seemingly works like this: "We have no confidence in you so don't mess up."

LSU only has a good QB every few years. Les Miles is the greatest coach ever.

You will not have a 1,000 yd rusher when using a 4 back system. The "early losses" to the NFL doom LSU to a lesser than possible season. LM is a great recruiter, but cannot make up for those who opt out early.

The Tigers need to look for better dual threat QBs and continue to select tough RBs. The pass game needs to be more spread and wide open. The SEC can defense any team that chooses to run the ball 80 % of the offensive plays.

What was the total rushing yards for the team this year? Bet it is over 1,000 yds

I just looked up the 2014 rushing yards total for the 2014 regular season. The "backfield" ran for 2634 yards in a little over 550 carries. This attests to the back's power and running ability when the opposition knew the team choose run over pass often.

Rather good average.
