Those same people who "demand excellence" from LSU are often mediocre or worse in their own lives. That's what makes the whole paradigm laughable to me.

couldn't every play go for an 80 yard td if executed correctly?

Yes. Thats why cfb is about execution. Hell auburn runs the same play 75 % of the time. They just execute.

Hell, what they ran against A&M wasn't the same thing they ran against Arkansas the week before. So quit trying to compare the two. Our offense was good in 2013 and it sucked in 2014 and it wasn't just about the execution of it.

Yes it was. Just because we ran a jet sweep and a couple read options doesnt mean we changed our scheme.and yes what set apart our 2013 and 2014 offense is execution . sorry you cant see that. If you cant see that Mett DID execute and AJennings didnt thats on you

Are you trying to insinuate 2013 and 2014 were "schematically" the same?

Yes. They were.

Let him keep believing there was some huge shift in scheme. It lets me know who the idiots are.

Because it's childish to bitch and complain that LSU, or any team for that matter, is not playing up to their potential. How is complaining on a message board going to make the team better?

Would I want LSU to go undefeated and win the NC every year? Well yes, but when they don't win, the sun is still going to rise. I think a lot of people on here live vicariously through LSU's success and that's pretty sad.

I agree - there may have been some minor tweaks here-n-there but they were largely the same.

But:

Mett =/= AJ (or BH)
Juice/OBJ =/= Travin, et al

So it was more than a little presumptious to think that '14 was going to replicate '13's success. Did Les/CC really expect our '14 O to be successful?

Idle speculation is foolish. Ask them

and their execution is solely reliant on the players?

There wasn't some HUGE shift in scheme. But there was a shift. Not the same pass routes. More roll outs and designed QB runs.

And the bigger problem is really that there probably should have been more of a shift.

If they thought that AJ was capable of excelling in the same scheme as Mett after what he did in the bowl game and spring game then that's scary in and of itself.

After hearing Cam in that speech I assume they were thinking they could kind of do what they with Lee in the beginning of 2011 and Mett to some extent in 2012. More conservative and use play action and less aggressive passing. It didn't really work because Jennings was bad, inexperienced WRs, and a D that took a while to settle in.

Had they gone with what they did against A&M from the get go there's a chance Jennings would have excelled more IMO.

1) Do not understand the reasons why down years exist every now and then.
2) Have no realistic answer on how to fix it
3) Get super stoked about 5 star recruits that are coming in, and bitch about 5 star recruits that are now on the team not being good enough

Had no clue this thread would turn into 29 pages of repetitiveness.

In the OP I stated that I felt like coaching was holding us back. Specifically the offensive coaches didn't make enough adjustments during the year to see a gradual progression. The tweaks added for A&M were a couple simple tweaks that made us less predictable on the 1st and 2nd down.

I look forward to watching a real quality group in 2015 as long as the quarterback position isn't as much of a glaring weakness.

actually I believe the LSU could actually win a national championship about every third or fourth year but Hardly ever as long as a negative Tigers are tearing down our recruiting !

That's why they're told to pull for Bama. That shite is the norm for those sister humpers.

most threads I read where someone discusses the reality of our program people constantly bash them and tell them to support Bama.

Who decides what is reality? The reality of some is fire CLM, he's a dunce, stupid and incompetent. LSU is mediocre at best, we don't utilize the talent we have, we can never compete with Bama, etc. That is not everyone's reality so to say discussing the "reality" of LSU football is being put down is incorrect. Some just get tired of the constant bashing no matter what.

What's wrong with wanting to compete for championships?

I doubt you will find one poster on here who thinks something is wrong with competing for championships. Here you go "assuming" things about other posters. Just because someone is positive about LSU and doesn't scream the sky is falling does that make them not want to compete for championships?

quote:

LSU has every quality you need to do this, yet coaching seems to be keeping us down.

And here we go; the truth is revealed. Let's bash Miles. If we only had Saban we would win it all every year, blah, blah, blah.

Bama has not always competed for championships. Yes, they are on a run right now but it will not continue forever.

2007 LSU was winning a national championship and Bama was 7-6 with losses to Georgia, FSU, LSU, MSST, Louisiana Monroe and Auburn. They played Colorado in the Independence Bowl and won by 6.

Some of you people have short memories and/or miserable lives.

you are the only one saying that. which goes back to my point I made a few pages back.
