Dude, I had a little discussion yesterday along these same lines, and these young fellows tried to set me on fire. If you don't think miles is the best coach in America, then you hate LSU, just like these idiots posted on here. Well, lunatics like you said, instead of idiots. Maybe they should watch a game or 2 not involving the Tigers, and see if there is any noticeable difference in coaching

Dude....you made a dumbass thread and got blasted for being a dumbass. don't try to spin it into something it wasn't

Not one person in here said miles is the best coach in cfb. NOT ONE. Posters like myself see lsu with a chance to finish with 9 wins and top 20 ranking as a down year and we realize that its Miles that made that a reality. Being ranked higher than 106 programs is a down year under Miles and you have mouth breathers calling it and his tenure mediocre. Also, you cant tout the strength of the sec west then bash the coaches for not winning it every year.

Moffit is one of the best, but to think other top programs don't have great strength and condiotioning program is dumb.

Not true.

Nothing wrong with wanting to compete for championships and also nothing wrong with understanding that it will not happen every year.

There isn't really. Clock issues, see it all the time. running out of the I, see it all the time. Losing games, see it all the time.

What would you rather use when the facts are self evident - Let's see

absolutely, indeed, literally,really, very,
or as a matter of fact, de facto, genuinely, in point of fact or in reality, in truth, veritably

How ever you say it, Miles is losing more each year - in fact

I don't think Miles himself would say that, and that's something that I can respect about him. The way you've worded this discounts (at least to a degree) the assistant coaches, players, and everyone else involved. Even if that wasn't your intent, your wording is focused on giving one man the credit.

Imagine if Miles said -- We have a chance to finish the season with X wins, and I made that a reality -- that would be a foolishly arrogant thing for a coach to say, and I really don't think Miles would say it.

I doubt that cj2002 meant #1 in all of those things. I think he probably meant - among the top programs in the nation. But that third one is true, even if you interpret him to mean #1.

We have the highest paid assistants in the country, but not the entire coaching staff.

I think that's what he meant by staff, and again, I don't think he meant literally the top -- meaning #1 -- in all of those things he mentioned.

Just playing Devil's advocate. Personally I think people put too much emphasis on salaries. Just look at Kirk Ferentz and Kevin Sumlin

In everything except a consistently good pasing game and fan base. The first one I understand, the second one I really don't understand.

People are tired of the lack of passing game/QB drama, "wait til next year" mentality, Miles' quirky coaching decisions, and our anemic offense.....its that simple...DWI.

right because LSU fans are the only ones that complain about their coach being paid too much (iowa), underachieving (georgia), or being bad on offense (florida).looks like someone hasn't been exposed to the wonders that are
"This Week In Schadenfreude" and "MELTDOWN TIME"

You cant give Miles all the blame and not give him all the credit. I was saying Miles' tenure has been so successful, a 9 win top 20 finish will be seen as a down year.

You talk in extremes/absolutes regularly. It just doesn't work this way, and I guarantee you Miles would agree with me.

I don't know what exactly you're referring to when you say, "give Miles all the blame." I wouldn't give any coach all the blame. The performance of a TEAM is much more complicated than that.

No, but it seems that LSU fans are the only ones that complain about ALL of those at the same time.
