Michigan has stated that they reached out to his agent and Miles is still on the list. I guess Miles' agent must have said "we are interested" or else Miles would be eliminated.

Also, why would Miles "commit" to LSU and then put a reduced buyout on his new contract of $1.25M if he goes to Michigan? I understand it was added to the back page of his contract.

Either Miles is interested in Michigan or he is trying to "spin" the cash registers at LSU (again) which will be paid for by higher ticket prices, fees and other money LSU needs elsewhere in its budget.

If anything, there should be no new raise or contract from LSU. That maneuver is worn out.

Miles seems like he takes LSU for granted sometimes. I don't blame LSU fans for getting tired of him holding their school hostage every offseason.

Ole Miss pays their coach what your coach makes, time for a shake down.

I thought Miles has no buyout except for Michigan? I think you have it backwards.

The buyout is specific to Michigan because LSU knows that is the only job that could cause him to leave LSU. They also probably know Michigan is the only school dumb enough to have interest in the guy, so they figure they'll make some money off of the deal if it happens.

Les will be a rock star in Michigan with his boring as hell paint drying offense. I say good riddance!

It's his agent job to get him the best deal possible. It also helps his bottom line. It's a business. His agent had no loyalty to lsu. I'm sure miles trusts his agent to do what he does since its worked out for him so far. If lsu gave his agent the word that there would be no negotiation we would have heard more by now.

And you know what is bad for business? Jerking your bosses around while alienating your fanbase.

The majority know the game. It's the minority that try and fan the flames on a message board.

The $1.25M has been in his contracts since the first one in 2005. Same amount, same provision.

What's the general feeling among A&M fans regarding Sumlin's contract?

We had no choice or we'd have lost Sumlin to USC. They guys who wrote the check for the $500 million stadium upgrade are unamused at his salary with this year's results

If the offer is there, Miles will take it.
