When your opposition thinks you should keep your coach, it's time to change coaches.

DiNardo put up descent rankings, especially considering the state of the program when he arrived. However, he went high risk, high reward and it backfired. By his last season we didn't even have a full scholarship squad because of attrition, transfers, and disciplinary problems. So, that would count.

Hallman got some talent, but not enough. But talent doesn't matter when you rank with Gerry Faust as one of the most out of your depth head coaches in the history of college football.

Archer was an awful recruiter. That was his undoing.

Believe it or not, LSU managed to win a game here and there before Saban

You'll just have to pardon me if I'm not all that interested in an Auburn fan's perspective or input on what happens at LSU.

This before Saban stuff is so stupid. LSU is a way different program now. LSU always had the potential to be an inherently elite program, Steve Spurrier said as much that if we got the right guy we would be the scariest team in the country I believe in the 90s. We used to not have any direction for utilizing resources and collecting money, but now we do. The resources have always been here they just weren't tapped into and now we will continue to use the infrastructure in place that started when Saban got here which he and Emmert realized we had.

There's a pretty good chance Saban would have won multiple ships had he remained at LSU.

Another thing, this whole "Saban is a better coach now" thing. I mean sure he is he has progressed through his career, but he would have had the same or similar progression if he had stayed at LSU. He only got 5 years at LSU and never got to coach when his all star classes were upper classmen. He had 2 great recruiting classes back to back and we never got to see what he would do with them, we saw what Les did with them. Essentially him leaving in 04 is like if he would have left BAMA after the 2010 season. If he had stayed LSU would have 3-4 more national championships I'm fairly certain of that, also considering he wouldn't be going against an elite BAMA.

Spoke like a true Auburn fan. Miles' offense stinks, poor game manager, stubborn, and poorly communicates with fans. He does recruit well but retains poorly. Being an Auburn fan I ca see how you hope Miles stays at LSU.

So 1 year? Obviously I meant for a period of time of at least a few years under the same coach?

Was Les a great recruiter at Oklahoma st?

Same could have been said about ND, Nebraska, Michigan, etc a while back.

You can argue about Saban all you want, but he won a national championship with less than 2-losses. Using "remember before Miles" likes it's a bad thing is a joke.

Calm down buddy

8 and 4 as I recall. Losing the Cap One bowl on a blown DB assignment. Our DB coach blew it!

That 2004 year... We were lucking to beat Oregon St, Troy and Florida as I recall as well. Ver similar to this year.
