No. Seems like overkill, and I don't think it would be all that affective. Plus, it seems like a huge hassle.

Got one when they first came out 8 or 9 years ago.

I will admit its a little much, but we had it in a wide open rice field.

Not a bitch to keep up with if stationary. we kept the T-post in the ground with motor, lines run to pit blind with 12v car battery, just took the decoys off each night.

We quit using it a few years ago when the hunting got tough.

It did suck some teal right out of the damn ozone though, I killed my first cinnamon teal off of it.

Is this the thing with like 3 mojos that spin around in circles?

Yeah.

Mine has 2. Its basically 2 mojos with the "wind powered" wings, hanging from the end by coat hanger wire.

Flip the switch and that bitch starts slinging them.

Lolz. wow.

For some weird reason this reminds me of an old crow calling machine my dad's buddy busted out one weekend. He took us out to the spillway one afternoon and hooked this thing up to his car battery. It looked like an old FBI interrogation recording machine with a really old megaphone attached. He told us to load up and station ourselves behind a few larger trees. This thing started wailing something fierce. It sounded like a wounded bobcat with a broken leg that was getting it's eyes eaten out by a superhuman crow. Wild stuff, it freaked me out. I was like 13 years old.

I vividly remember him stating the importance of shooting and killing the matriarch bitch crow that would come swooping through first. He said if we miss that fricker, the hunt is probably busted.

Long story short, we waxed that first black bitch and it turned into a blood bath. I'm not sure why an electronic mallard christmas tree sparked that memory, but it did. Have good split. I'll be having withdrawals..

Best place to set up a Vortex is in the nearest dumpster.

I will quit hunting before I ever have to be around another of those annoying frickers.

same here...changed the mojo's out for the wind operated decoys...worked great...we had groups of ducks trying to land on them...rice fields just south of Bunkie...like any other motion decoys...you have to know when to use them and not use them...its been my experience the jerk cord is the best thing ever to put motion in a spread...

I've never hunted with a vortex, and I sure as hell ain't paying that much for one. I'm considering making one out of a windshield wiper motor.

Really hard to beat the old jerk string. I use it every year and ducks still suck into the spread like they have never seen it before.

We still use Mojos but usually pull them about an hour into a hunt and earlier if Specks are trying to work since they hate Mojos.

Yep. I've never seen specks decoy when a robo was on. Basically a speck repellent.
