In New Orleans for the weekend but headed to the Northshore Saturday night to visit friends. Anything decent?

Nice write up in the TP

It has been years since the north shore has produced a new restaurant this worthy of a cross-Causeway pilgrimage.

Rips on the Lake in Mandeville is not bad, just depends on if you're looking for nice sit down eating (which you can do inside) or outdoor fare on the Lakefront.
Sal and Judy's = WINNER no matter what.

Nathan's on the water in the 'dell. Parmesan-crusted redfish and a stuffed potato.

Keith Young's in Madisonville..

Make reservations for Sal and Judy's. If you can't get them, Keith Young's, Gallagher's, Ox Lot 9 (I didn't like my meal there at all, but the wife loved it), or Del Porto are the next viable options
