Take them for what you will but, let's face it, you don't want to put these numbers next to other guys making around his salary.

You can argue that overall, he's a good coach, but that he's rough on offenses seems to be sort of obvious. ESPECIALLY as time progressed.

2005 3rd
2006 2nd
2007 1st
2008 5th
2009 11th
2010 11th
2011 4th
2012 10th
2013 7th
2014 11th

I assume that is conference rank and not national. I would suggest you use the national ranking if you really want to make your point.

Using this argument, the 2007 offense was better than the 2013 quad. If you got to pick, which one would you rather have?

Using this argument

This is not a good argument. It's all comparative. in 2013 the SEC had very explosive offenses.

2007 since they averaged the most points/game in school history.

Annual rankings are against peers of that year, not of some other year.

Excellent point. You play offense with the goal of scoring! So, with that in mind.....SEC RANKS SINCE 2005 in scoring are......

2005 3rd
2006 1st
2007 2nd
2008 4th
2009 10th
2010 9th
2011 2nd
2012 7th
2013 6th
2014 11th

So in 6 out of 10 years, the offense has been in the top half of the conference?

2007, if Flynn had the WRs and Running backs off the 2013 team, what do you think those numbers would have been.

I'd rather the offense score points than focus on TOP.

And the 2007 offense was the best in school history. It carried that team to a NC after the defense collapsed midway in the year.

Right, put wins next to this category and any QB who started a game that season...

I think its better to show SEC only stats, only one or maybe two non-conference games a season are actual competitive games, no reason to inflate statistics using non-conf opponents.

It looks like the point is that Jimbo was a far better evaluator of qb success than any other coach we've had during that time period. Just ridiculous to have not consistently touched the top 5 since 2008. I'm actually shocked to see 2008 and 2011 rank in the top 5.

Are you under the impression Flynn was a better QB than Mett?...

flynn's wrs were absurd as well and a deeper group for sure. We also had a solid TE in the mix.
