Dragon Quest 8: The Journey of the Cursed King is incredible and a must play.

Out of the ones you mentioned Lunar 2. Especially if you can get the one with the updated voice and scenes. Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete.

Playing Lunar one is not a must but there are a bunch of easter eggs in it.

DQ8 is my favorite RPG is my favorite of all time. That game was so unbelievably massive in world size and content.

Suikoden 2 changed how I viewed RPGs. The first one is on the psn and gives an accurate impression of the second. Except that the second is infinitely better. You can pick up the 3rd and 5th for cheaper though. Skip 4 however.

Its very good. Only reason I brought it up is that winter time always reminds me of that game (it takes place around Christmas time in New York). Its a great 32-bit Square RPG. Its unique in that it is still turn based, though you can run in around freely in an area around the enemy. Crafting weapons and the New Game+ with the Chrysler Tower gives it re-playability.

+1 to Parasite Eve, extremely fun. 2 isn't as good but I still had fun with it

I'll throw Xenogears into the mix, my favorite JRPG of all time

Not nearly as good as Tub Girl 2. The series has really gone downhill.

They removed the strategic aspects of it and tried to appeal to a broader fan base.

Kinda ran off the diehard Tub Girl fans.
