Ryan Anderson has hit 4 3's in the last 5 games

4/25 the last 5 games.
He's shooting just barely above .300 from 3 for the season, by far the worst % of his career
He's scored more than 23 pts just once this season (@ Cleveland)
My question is this just a small slump and shaking the rust off, or did that injury have a major effect on his game. Is his shot different because of it? Has he "lost it"?
Is it on Monty? Are we not using him right? Not enough plays called for him?
If he's not hitting threes I'm not real sure he needs to stick around. My feelings about trading him are starting to go from "no way" to "well...maybe not the worst idea"
What are your thoughts on the matter PT?

not to mention he's close to useless on my fantasy team
probably the worst part of all of this
probably the worst part of all of this

I know he has more of a line drive for a shot, but it has really looked flat lately. He also really struggles with posting up and too often takes a lot of terrible looking fall away jumpers.

And he's an average rebounder and a below average defender
I like the guy and I think he's a pretty good basketball player, but I'm not sure he's much of a piece on this team if he can't hit threes
If he's not stretching defense...whats the point? Would be a pretty nice trade piece

You think the rest of the NBA isn't seeing what you're seeing?

Always the answer for the PTers

i'm disappointed, danman...he'll break out the slump and be a great shooter again.
Pels really did play a good game tonight. I'm pretty negative myself, but this team will compete for a playoff spot, imo. Dallas is good. We're gettin there

maybe they think it's a slump and they could make a good deal for them
which would suck for us if they end up being correct
shitty situation, i hope he turns it around soon

He needs more time. Dude jacked up his back in January. Didn't start doing any physical activity until, I believe, July. Full contact wasn't until mid September. The NBA schedule is brutal.
The comment about him posting up is spot on. He can have success there, but way too much of that. It's like watching Mark Jackson ISO post Klay Thompson AD nauseam last year.

I'm thinking it's just a slump. Hopefully with 3 home games in a row coming up, he can find his stroke.

It's far from on Monty. Dude is getting open looks. Wide open looks.

Yep, that play at the end of the game was a beautiful design, but Ryno just couldn't sink it.

I'm not sure I'd use the term slump. His shot is flat, which makes me think he isn't getting the drive with his legs. The back injury kept him from working on his legs. It also kept him from taking shots.
Hopefully he gets back into real playing shape as the season goes on.

I agree, he just looks out of shape really to me. Especially late him games his play has been at its worse IIRC.

While he is in a good spot coming off the bench, he is not the type of offensive player that can anchor a 2nd unit. He needs a shot creator on the floor with him. Austin has the potential to become that - with his ability to get in the lane - but he continues to play so timid and struggles to run the offense.

I agree he needs a shot creator but disagree the Rivers can be that.
Rivers has been pretty bad with the ball in his hands. he can get in the lane but can't finish and doesn't find teammates often enough. He is best suited playing off the ball in a 3+D roll.

But he was already questioning whether this was more than a shooting slump and asking about trading him. After only 5 games. He overreacts way too much
