I am soooooo glad that the few times I got upset as a kid my dad said:
"Son, you have the right to be offended..but, you don't have the right to demand I give a damn. AND, you have no right to bring your discomfort to the rest of us. So, go pout in your room as long as you like. Come out when you are ready to enjoy life with the family!"
