Over the last 4 coaches they have Steve Spurrier, Ron Zook, Urban Meyer, and Will Muschamp. 2 great ones and 2 baddd ones. UF is a top 3 coaching spot in the country.

Not sure why anyone is confident we would get a better coach than Les Miles when a school like Florida with a great AD like Foley get Ron Zooks and Will Muschamps.

Our fanbase is absolutely delusional if they are confident we would get a better coach on our first try. I'd rather average 10 wins a year with an SEC championship sprinkled in every 4 years than go through 3 or 4 years of absolute shite and have to rebuild.

Is it better
LSU has more tradition going back further
It wasn't until Spurrier came that things changed and only Meyer since has done anything

More competition in state of Fla from other programs

Don't be silly.

UF is a top 3 job. LSU is top 10 for sure, but UF is up there with USC and Texas.

I disagree completely. I do not see how you consider UF better than LSU

Recruiting: Nope, considering the competition

Facilities: Double Nope

Money: Nope

History: Triple nope

Weather: Nope

Town: Nope

Good post OP. It will fall on deaf ears, but good post.

You never want to roll the dice unless you have to (or you are Nebraska apparently).

Most "best jobs in college football" lists have UF in the top five.

I don't disagree that just finding another coach will not be easy. And I want Miles to stay, but....

UF
SEC Championships: 8
National Championships: 3

In state schools to recruit against: Miami, Florida State, USF, UCF

LSU
SEC Championships: 14
National Championships: 3

In state schools to recruit against: Tulane, La Tech, ULM, ULL

I feel like LSU is the better coaching destination because of the recruiting base...and BR isn't great, but have you been to Gainsville?

Even with tens of millions on the line? In an age when college sports gets more and more expensive with salaries and stipends?

That is a bad bet.

This.

Louisiana produces some of the best talent in the country, and you can tell kids to stay home and represent their state school - something you can't do at Texas, Florida, or USC, since there are other major programs within the state.

Dude. They have well over 100 really solid D1 players every year in Florida. Louisiana has great top end talent, but we aren't CLOSE to their kind of numbers.

Miami, FSU, and UF can all split them and there are still plenty to go around. Not that Miami will get as many as UF or FSU anymore.

Facilities: Double Nope

They don't have an IPF, but they are building a brand new one. LSU's facilities are mediocre in the SEC now FYI.

And they haven't needed an IPF because:

Weather: Nope

Money: Nope

Ehhhhhhh

UF athletics earn more revenue than LSU

Florida has top 20 endowment money and LSU isn't close to that as well

Town: Nope
.
Gainesville blows, you're right. But Baton Rouge isn't paradise.

History: Triple nope

Recruits love this shite

Recruiting: By a long shot

Money: WAAAAAY more than LSU

History: similar

Weather: UH, yes

Town: Gainesville certainly isn't any worse than BR

I'd rather LSU try and fail than die the slow death that Miles is bringing.
