"I'm patient, yet eager, for whenever the opportunity presents itself"

That is a quote from Frank Wilson. That is a clear message to any AD that he will listen to a Head Coach offer. He is happy with his current role and place, for sure, but I think he intends to be "cultivated" (his word from the New Orleans QB Club presentation) at LSU for a bit longer until the right opportunity presents itself.
As much as I'd like to be delusional that he will stay at LSU for the long haul, I appreciate his honest statement indicating that is eager for a HC position.

I'll be happy for him when it happens. Maybe he'll make a really good HC and we can give him a call when Les retires.

This. Mad much as I love frank and want him to stay I will be very happy for him and root for him wherever he ends up. He's been great for our program. I don't think a ton of people realize his impact

the problem is I don't see him ever being an OC, so he is going to eventually have to make the Jump to HC at a smaller program if he ever wants to coach an elite program.
