Hulu Plus needs its head examined

Its head honcho, that is.

Its programming is just fine. The Criterion collection of movies is great, in fact. The ability to binge stream current TV shows is great, too.

But, my god, that interface. On every device. Sucks on Roku. Sucks on Chromecast. Sucks on Playstation.

I watch Netflix about five to one over HuluPlus because I find navigating the latter extremely tedious.

A pop up synopsis when browsing these things is critical for me... and probably for most people. When will Hulu get the message that it needs such a thing? It probably can't hold on to viewers because of just that one thing.

My qualm is with the repeating commercials. I don't want to watch the same irrelevant and annoying commercial during every break.

I still think its ridiculous you're subjected to ads even with plus. I get having them for fresh content, but there's no reason I should have to sit through ads while watching past seasons of stuff.

From the studio's perspective every time you watch a show on HuluPlus that's a lost DVD sale, they have to make that money up somehow. My biggest problem is they don't have enough back episodes. I'd possibly have gotten and kept HuluPlus if it was useful for catching up on a show more than 5-6 episodes into a season.

frick that, you shouldn't have to have commercials at all if you are paying for that shite.

the entire reason I even have Netflix is so I can stream movies and full tv seasons with no commercials

I'm on board with you. frick those ads they ruin it for me. I left because of that and I am sure a lot of people have done the same.

The Roku interface sucks.

I logged on this weekend and couldn't find any of my recently watched shows.

Hulu was originally free and ad-free. Then they went to just free, and then they went to free and paid where you could pay to get rid of the ads...and finally they said frick it you're paying for it AND we're giving you ads.

It's been something to witness over the years for sure, and to be honest I'm not sure why the hell I still pay for the service

did you check under the heading, "shows you watch" because I think it's like the 2nd row under the giant picture ...

*edit*
One aspect of Hulu's interface that really pisses me off is that if auto-play is turned on and you fall asleep watching something (like we always do) it just continues to auto-play through anything and everything and all that shite now shows up on the "shows you watch" which is really irritating.

The interface is absolutely atrocious. But man, it is worth it for the Criterion Collection alone

I agree the navigation needs some major work.

The worst part for me is the fact that the adds sometimes freeze and take forever to load. If there must be ads I think the amount of during one showing should only be at most two.

The ads with Hulu Plus are ridiculous and have turned off tons of people to their service. I wish Netflix with sign a contract with Criterion effectively crushing Hulu Plus in the process.

HuluPlus has streamed better and more reliably for me in the past year or so... it used to freeze constantly.

I really don't mind the ads so much as a tradeoff for the value... if only they didn't repeat the same one over and over again.

But, my god... that interface. tsk tsk.. To learn what a movie is all about you have to click on its thumbnail... wait for that load... if it doesn't interest you push the back button and wait for the menu to load again. It's tedious and discouraging to navigation.
