Are they at a societal and economical disadvantage in America?

It shouldn't, but the Federal Government believes it matters a hell of a lot...

No....they were considered Japanese. The same nationality of the country who had just attacked the homeland.

But they weren't Japanese. They interned Americans, born in America.

No. Jews, Asians, Arabs (who I am NEVER quick to compliment), eastern Indians, and many Hispanics work their asses off in order to overcome whatever inherent societal obstacles happen to stand in their way.

Other minority groups (blacks, indian Americans) gladly accept societal advantages and then ask for more and more and more and whine about how evil and unfair America is.

They do not consider themselves people of color. They are happy to be here and work their tails off and are very successful. They don't need or want handouts.

Did you see that Disney Princess census thing on Facebook too?

I saw it this morning - they considered Mulan "people of color."

When a country treats a group of people differently than the majority on some arbitrary reason (Japanese, African) even if they are American, we can consider them "colored" aka "different"

Are you talking about in the immediate aftermath of WWII in regards to Japanese?

Because I literally know no one who views Japanese as "colored" or "minority" in the same respect as they view other minority groups. I feel like Japanese (even though they are more visibly "different" than Jewish people form WASPs) are viewed more or less as WASPs in social and business settings.

Where are you located? Who do you work with?

There is a shite ton of discrimination towards japanase people and it's mostly from Korea, Filipino, and Vietnamese co workers. You sound a bit sheltered.

Large-ish city in Midwest. Also visit Chicago and Minneapolis a ton where there are many Japanese who socialize with and date tons of white people. So actually the opposite of sheltered unless "liberal big cities" give a more inclusive vibe to Japanese.

ETA: Half white/half Japanese people are insanely attractive. Insanely.

So, if you're technically a person of color who is determined to succeed in life without taking advantage of your so-called disadvantage...are you still a person of color?

I ask because the phrase "person of color" means that you are at a disadvantage in life which means that you cannot succeed without assistance.

Liberals have been extremely inconsistent regarding their treatment of Asians.

In the generic sense, they want everything to be seen as Whitey vs. the Field (I.E., everybody else).

But when it comes to more specific issues such as the lack of diversity at NASA or Silicon Valley, Asians suddenly become whiter than snow.

Asians/Hispanics provide cover for liberals in these discussions. But no other race other than blacks (and American Indians to a significant degree) in America actually buys into the Racial Victimhood Narrative. Particularly for Asians that would be disgraceful. Mrs. Pimp bristles at the suggestion that her fate is determined by her race or skin color. She likewise is living proof that an immigrant can come here at age ten without speaking a single word of English and within a generation be a full participant in American life.

Now as they become Americanized over generations some will inevitably latch onto the Liberal Race Narrative at their local college or whatever. But that's a kind of self-imposed despair, and it stems not from lack of opportunity, but from swallowing too much Libtard juice.

Who are you classifying as Asian?

Technically the census classifies people
born in India,Iran,Afghanistan,Nepal etc
...along with those born in East and South
Asia...(Orientals some might say)as Asian

Bobby jindal is Asian and ask anyone who worked with his campaign how much they had to do before his first failed run and when he was elected to get north Louisiana voters to see him as anything other than "colored"
