Madden Roster issues

I picked up Madden on Black Friday for really cheap and have been loving the game.

I am in season 2 of the CFM, but I am running into some issues with my roster.

First, I have a few guys on my roster who don't play. One of my starting DT's, Brockers, shows up on my depth chart when I'm not playing a game. Once I'm playing a game he does not start, and then when I go to try to put him in he's not listed on the depth chart. I looked at the injuries and he's not there. I haven't paid enough attention to notice if this is the case with anybody else (it doesn't seem to be though). Is there a way to fix this problem?

Also, Drew Brees is starting to drop in ratings because of his age (very realistic I suppose). I went and looked for Mettenberger on the Titans roster and he is gone (he was there in season 1). I looked through every other teams roster, no Mett. I then looked through all the Free Agents and he's not there either.

What am I doing wrong?
