I don't think we learned much on committee methodology: OSU was an anomaly

Top 3 were a given.

I think they/us were in shock and awe based on what OSU did to Wisconsin; and give them credit, 59-0 is an epic beatdown, but one which is incredibly rare and lends itself to emotion. How could they be excluded?

Just like so much in life, I think the takeaway is timing and we OSU did it.

This is why we need some kind of predetermined methodology so we/they know what the hell the rules of the game are.

I think we learned that being undefeated doesn't guarantee you #1, even if you're the lone Power 5 undefeated up there. And that you can't just name your teams co-champs and expect the committee to not see past that bullshite either.

The did, and it lends it self to conspiracy theories about exclusion of smaller schools. That said, nothing should be taken away from OSU and what they did last night.

I agree, I didn't see the Epic beat down coming. That was the first time a team got shutout in a conference championship. If OSU won the game by 7 point, I don't think they would of went to the playoffs.

They still would have been in.

You're overthinking it. Ohio State had a better record. Their opponents had a better record. Their opponents' opponents had a better record.

Yep. The committe was looking for any reason not to pick between Baylor and purple Baylor and tOSU gave it to them.

And they had a very easy, legitimate reason too.
Ohio State risked playing an extra game against a ranked opponent to win their conference, unlike TCU or Baylor.

I don't think the committee would of let Ohio St in if their QB had a bad game in the Championship.
