In what order do you beat the temples in Ocarina of Time?

Forest
Fire
Water
Shadow
Spirit
But for some reason the game makes it seem like Shadow comes before Spirit with the way they order the medallions and other stuff.

I didn't think you had a choice. I always went Forrest, Fire, Water, Shadow and Spirit.

You could slightly mix up Spirit and Shadow Temples, but you needed to get the levitating boots from them first.

I know the first time I played I did the Spirit one first before the Shadow one.

I remember in The Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the Past I did the third Dark World dungeon last.

Honestly, now that I think about it the Shadow Temple does kind of fit in better as the final temple rather than the Spirit Temple. So much Hylian royalty and mysterious powers surrounded that temple and Kakariko Village.

What? No way. The Spirit Temple is a much better last temple.
It's in a vast wasteland far away from anything. It's massive and you have to enter it as a child and older. The owl talks to you like it's the last time he'll see you too.

Link between worlds is the only zelda game I remember where you were allowed to choose any order of dungeons. The other games require glitching.

First time I did Spirit before Shadow.
Now when I play I do Shadow then Spirit

I've beaten fire before forest one time. Im not entirely sure how but I did.

I think you can technically beat the temples in any order but you have to get the item at that temple in order to get past certain points in future temples ie) hook shot, bow, etc.
