This is always going to be the norm

Picking the best 4 teams out of 128 with only a 12/13 game sample size? That doesn't make any mathematical sense.

Playoffs as a whole are an incredibly stupid way to determine a champion.

Well hell why play any games at all ? Lets just decide the champ based on recruiting stars.

biggest mathematical issue currently is 5 conferences and only 4 spots.

This only works when each team plays the exact same schedule (2 games against ALL other teams), like in soccer. Otherwise it'll just reward whoever has the easiest schedule.

and that issue will always exist. CFB is a group of conferences trying to create some title-determination system

it cannot be viewed as a single entity overseeing conferences

5 power conferences with 4 spots. Conference champs should be in with 3 wildcards. 8 teams.

... and this was one of the reasons (besides money) that I-A resisted going to a playoff. 2 becomes 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 68.

It just did work. They got the field exactly right.

They just need to get rid of their weekly rankings so people don't have much material to make mountains out of molehills.

I posted it in my thread. But this new system gave MORE teams a chance to make the postseason.

How is that a bad thing?
