Arguably the most talented offense in the history of LSU football, loaded with NFL talent. You know the names, Met, Hill, OBJ, Landry, & Blue. And only if we had a better defense last year we would have won it all. Anyone hear that before? If we were so good on offense last year why did we finish 6th in total offense in the SEC? NFL talented QB and WR’s helped LSU finish 6th in total passing offense in the SEC. And why does everyone use our defense as an excuse last year? LSU finished 6th in total defense same as the offense. If our offensive coaches cannot do better than 6th in the SEC with all of last year’s talent they never will.
Why do we blame the defense and give the offense a pass? I say the offense underachieved last year. Yea I know we had two 1,000 yard receivers and that has only happened twice before. I bet those other two offenses didn’t finish 6th in the conference in passing and total offense like us. The bottom line is our lack of offensive coaching was masked by the NFL talent we had. Take some of that NFL talent away and you get this year’s offense, ranked 11th in the SEC.

Now don't criticize miles. Bama had way more talent than us. We shouldn't expect les to compete against Bama. He's a good person. You will be judged as negative on this board. We shouldn't have good things at lsu. Be thankful for the 70s big 10 offense and support the visionary les.

He is probably sick like me watching the SEC Championship game without LSU for the third year in a row. He is probably trying to figure out why we haven't done better with the talent we have had on those teams. I am still trying to figure out why the hell we recruit players who don't fit our offensive philosophy. He has probably come to the realization that we are going to underachieve offensively until someone changes..............and not the OC.

Last years offense was good but underachieving considering the talent. About like 2006. And it still shite the bed against Bama.

the scheme is shite.

But don't you remember the 90s? We used to be bad, then we had some good seasons, it's okay for us to suck again now.

LSU's offense in 2013 was phenomenal

And I bet you know nothing about efficiency stats. LSU had a top 5 offense in CFB last year

Wouldn't consider myself a pumper. Our offense this year was pathetic. Our offense last year was great.
I don't see the need to discount the 2013 offense's accomplishments to try and make a point.

We lost 3 games last year. What were you trying to say with that? Great offenses don't lose games?

Do not criticize this team or Offense even if you were a fan from back on 60's you are still a shitty fan to the CLM lovers
Still want to know how many of them are season ticket buyers and not yet have an answer!

geaux,

All the people that will attack you cant take off the purple and gold glasses.

They will speak with emotion.

Unlike you, who backs up your opinion with stats.

Like I always says, you have to have a basis to work off of.

A coach can win games, but it doesn't mean he is doing his job to the best of his ability.

Listen to yourself….
"A coach can win games, but it doesn't mean he is doing his job to the best of his ability."
A coach is hired to win games!!
If we win a NC next year running Georgia Tech's offense, people like you will be buying NC t-shirts, bumper stickers, flags, marching in parades, etc.

No it wasn't. It was a "very good" offense. Which is sad considering the talent we had. We had "great" talent. You would be hard pressed to name 5 teams over the last 5 years that had better talent on offense than we did. Teams with two players as talented as that foursome would put up some big numbers.

1st in 3rd down % (2nd best in 10+ years)
3rd in passing yards per attempt - 10.4
4th in passing efficiency
Hill averaged 6.9 ypc last year.
Our offense was great

When you adjust the offense for pace, opponents, etc, we come out near the top

LINK

Judging college football offenses by total yards is completely idiotic giving the different styles and paces run.

So if I "adjust" the offense then we finish near the top, eh? How exactly do you adjust for "pace"? Do you simply add plays and yards and scores even though it is our offense that can't run them in a normal 60 minute game?

Nice numbers. Still didn't translate into enough points and yards to be considered "great". There have been "great" offenses in college with a lot less talent. I can't think of a single team that performed worse than we did with the same talent, can you?
