Yeah I think I'm gonna try and focus on strength next to get my damage up now that my health is substantial enough for the areas I've found.
So where's this Amelia boss? I haven't seen it once. I somehow ended up at the Parbaarl Beast before then

quote:Yes, although there are barriers to keep you out of some areas, like gates or doors. Overall though, you can wander into areas that are above your pay grade.
I've never played any of the DS games so I have a noob question. Is the whole game one giant level that I'm free to explore from the start? I'm afraid to wander off too far bc I don't know why or where I'm going.
That shouldn't be a problem until after the 3rd boss at the least.
Dark Souls 1 was the same way. Dark Souls 2 went with a teleport system which lost some of the games "big world" feel.
If you never die, there are no load screens except when you teleport to the Hunter's Dream.

Amelia is vey close to the cathedral. If you go straight from the lantern out the cathedral (you'll see a carriage with a grave keeper behind it) and up the steps to the right, you'll come to a gate. Behind that gate are the steps to Amelia.
To get to her, you have to go a roundabout way. I can tell you how to get there if you want.
The only info the game gives you is to head to the Healing Church Workshop which is off the Cathedral as well.

Is Amelia the chick with the pointy mask and dressed in all black?

Amelia is a big wolf looking boss with stringy white hair all over her body.
Her full name is Vicar Amelia.

Took downed Blood Starved Beast on first try last night.
I beat him, then was so amped i forget I was poisoned. I popped an anidote while going to my knees to die, and my character drinks it while falling to death.
Then I get killed by a warewolf going back to get my 20k echoes I lost in there.
They gone.

Damn. That sucks.
Those wolves are brutal. I'm finally at a level where they don't bother me anymore. You'll get there and then you get to laugh at their attempts to kill you.

I just googled it and it's Eileen. She's a friendly apparently. I keep trying to fight her and she kills me in about 3 seconds every time.

Has anyone accidentally attacked the doll in hunter's dream?

Yea, I actually don't have a huge problem with them now, but as I've found out about this game, if you are half assed paying attention or talking to someone in party chat, a normal enemy can catch you slipping, it really takes full attention to play this game.

Haha ok I went back to your post and just realized you sent me there haha. That's weird it didn't send you to the nighare frontier.... When he picked me up, a strange voice started speaking and then I was just in a different area called nightmare frontier. I won't spoil what the area is like, but it was difficult to say the least

This question is for those that have played all the other souls games: did you find bloodborne easier, harder or about the same compared to the others?

Exactly. If i ever have to leave the room I clear out the room I'm in, and any connecting surrounding rooms
Actually i usually try to go back to the dream bc you're otherwise not truly safe

I hit her once accidentally, she seemed to like it.
It did hit her and she made a noise, but no penalty.

I went back to Hunter's Dream last night and she was randomly in another place.
I'll ask this again because I think it got missed. If I'm comfortable with my axe, do I need to look at other weapons or just keep fortifying the axe?

She plays hide and seek. Randomly it seems.
I'm using the axe too and I am looking for Ludwig's blade because I want to main that. I can't upgrade my axe anymore until I find twin blood shards or w/e...so i say max it out while you can. It won't be long, 3-4 upgrades until you hit the cap where shards no longer work and you need twin ones. I have like 32 blood shards right now because I'm saving them for ludwig's blade rather than pumping them into the kirkhammer.
Can anyone tell me where Ludwig's is? I just beat BSB.

From Cathedral Ward go to the right (I think) through the door with the elevator (was unlocked after beating Blood Starved Beast) beat wheelchair guy with machine gun, cross bridge and go to the very top of that tower, up there is a another wheelchair guy with a flamethrower, after you beat him he drops a badge that unlocks the blade from the vendors

That's rough
I was upset with myself for letting about 4k echos go to the Father.
