i'm having serious trouble with the hunter in old yharmen... not the gun dude but the other one on the ground. dude is fast and I can't figure him out

For him I went pretty cheap. If you position yourself well, you can cheap shot him when he's going up the stairs.
I just realized a hunter shows up in odeon's temple after you leave. I went back and I saw two hunters fighting. About to take a break to go try to get him.
I tired fighting him. Fricking impossible. He defeated d me in one combo.

basically just doing as much damage as possible to it at a distance where it can't cause damage to you
jump in and get a hit or two with your axe. I had more success keeping my axe short to get in close and personal to hack away
jump away to heal if you were hit or jump away to catch your breath before going back in to hack
rinse and repeat.
the good thing about this boss is it stayed in one place for me doing the same motion over and over. made it easy to jump in and jump out.
was my first boss to take down in a game like this and I didn't have to watch any tutorials

Don't take screenshots when you get a trophy by the way. Ps4 automatically does that now so my trophy screenshot is from the share page

Ranges objects didn't help much fwiw. I found the molotov to be hit or miss literally.
Eta : where can I get my weapons repaired? Or do I have to go new?

yea I missed with like 6 of the 10 molotovs I threw at it
the ranged stuff didn't do much damage, but it was damage I could do without risk of injury

Finally got playing yesterdat afternoon.
That freakin CB killed me more times than I can count. Kept getting stuck between wall and his massive body.
Really digging the no shield aspect. In previous Souls game, I would always have a shield to hide behind if needed; but I like that you have to really stay on your toes with dodging in this one.

Did anyone find the Hunter in white who gives you something for being friends? I ran up to him swinging thinking he was an enemy and know everytime I go near him he fricks me up

Strafe towards his right arm and hack away; do charged attacks when he's not thrashing. You can also summon Gascoigne as an NPC.
