Yeah, I'll bet he can.

"But most reports indicate that Schiano would be on the second-tier after candidates like San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and LSU coach Les Miles."

I don't want a fricking jersey twit coaching michigan. They need a man from ohio/michigan/Midwest coaching their team.

Brady Hoke grew up in Ohio, I think he's available.

Michigan needing the "michigan man" is what got them hoke. That mindset also will ensure that michigan will remain a has been program. The university should hire the best coach they can get and not necessarily the "michigan man."

definitely the oddest part of the story. obviously Corch Irvin Meyers thinks he would fail miserably if he would give support to OSU's biggest rival

Schiano wanted the Penn State job so bad while he was at Rutgers. I have no idea why Tampa Bay took a flier on him.

Somehow he made a good friendship with the AD and pres at Rutgers and they thought they just needed to spend more money (especially on Schiano) and expand the stadium in order to become a top program.

Exactly. It'd be like LSU seeking Saban's advice on Miles' replacement.

funny you should mention that. didn't Saban recommend Houston Nutt as the coach to replace him when he left for Miami?

Yeah, his tweet about high powered NFL coaches supporting Schiano is strange. I think that is only if he is trying for an NFL coaching job.

quote:

Schiano can count on a recommendation from close friend Bill Belichick. The Patriots coach twice recommended Schiano for the Cleveland Brown's opening in the offseason. Schiano can also count on the support of Ohio State coach Urban Meyer.
Seems like Belichick was VERY motivated to keep Schiano in the NFL.

I think secretly every Big 10 coach would write a letter of recommendation for Schiano.

Yep.

Fortunately, the BOS learned their lesson from the time in 1986 when they allowed the new Florida AD to name his successor as LSU's head coach.

This is insane, I know they are down but I can't believe this guy is any tier for the Michigan job. Plenty money, good facilities and the Big Ten is not exactly the SEC West . You get a guy like Miles there who recruits his arse off, hires good coaches and he would trip himself to 10 wins a year with serious runs at the Final Four.

And I still can't believe Lloyd fricking Carr has any say in anything. What a joke if people are still listening to anything that a-hole is saying . No wonder they suck.
