If this kid is legit then its a must get for Miles. I hear every year how LA just doesn't produce top tier QB talent so if we lose this kid to another school it will sting more than Cam Robinson or Collins etc etc. Miles has obviously struggled to land a decent signal caller so here's his chance. That being said, the jury is still out on Harris so we could be better off than we know. I just think our coaching staff struggles with playing the best players so we may never know.

Actually, LSU and Miles have not struggled to get well ranked QBs...what has happened instead is they haven't panned out as of yet. That is NOT recruiting/landing issues...it is evaluation or improvement issue...not the same thing. As far as not playing the best players, thanks but no thanks on an amateur like you making that judgment.

Plenty of problems improving and coaching the QB recruits. Aside from Russell and Flynn with Jimbo, it is hard to believe all of them were that bad.
Mett - mixed as he was already at a head start from GA and JC. May have been our most talented QB during the 1/9 season too ....
Bottom line is Miles and/or his coaches have done very little, if anything, to develop QB talent. And that nonsense needs to change. Either run Cameron out of town because he is incompetent or stop holding him back from doing his job. Interestingly, Crowton even said Miles put his mark and held back the LSU offense. Crowton should know.
Just IMHO - Trend is too long not to put this decade long problem on Miles.
I will say that there is nothing better than pounding an opponent into submission with the ground game but when you cannot get TDs, you lose games like AL and almost to AtM at the end.

Commenter on another board said that Patterson's mobility is vastly underrated. Couple that with his passing ability and I don't see how you cannot pursue this guy as hard as possible. His stats are very good. TD to Int ratio was amazing last time I checked.

Well we don't and Patterson isn't from here. Yeah, Louisiana is not the place to rustle up top ranked QBs. Last one before Harris, was Jefferson in 08, and he was only the 8th ranked pro style.

I do think they should throw the kitchen sink at him though. I also think they should pick up a 3rd QB.

Patterson said in an interview that he considers himself as a dual threat QB. He really looks good out there, and is pretty polished mechanically as well.

He's 6'2 about 190-195 but he's also a junior in high school. Still has room to grow and players always get bigger thier senior year and even that first year of college. He will be fine. He's the whole package forsure...I can say if LSU doesn't get him I think it'll come back to bite us. Kinda like Dak Prescott but Patterson I believe will play a lot sooner than Prescott did since he's so far along with mechanics and technique.

Patterson is the closest thing to Manziel I've seen lately. I can't believe he wouldn't be considered a dual threat qb.

And exactly what has Crowton done since leaving?

Considering he'll have a senior and junior in front of him if/when he gets here, he should be able to put on another 15-20lbs from now til he's a redshirt freshman. That would put him right around what Jennings was coming into this year.

so fricking crazy how people think you develop a QB in their first year.

Also frick Crowton. did he get head back at every school before and after LSU?

Why do people pretend like he was some genius that les held back? he sucked.

Why in the frick do we have a chief of staff? It's not the fricking white house they're running

Calm down man, it' just an admin title they gave Kragthorpe so he could remain employed. He's not getting paid his OC salary, and it lets him be around his kid while he deals with his illness. That family has been through a lot, it's a nice gesture by Miles.

It's like someone said earlier his brother is on staff at LSU. I have had conversations with the uncle and the brother and Shea and the family like LSU. Just need to keep them happy.

Crowton has a history for declining after his first year in a program. That 2007 season kept a lot of elements from Fisher's offense. The later teams could have been a lot worse had he had free reign.

If some of the stuff spouted about Miles were true, he's a lot smarter than any of you want to give him credit for. He is somehow deliberately holding this team back yet winning nearly 80% of the games, all while not having a play sheet in his hand during the games.
