I watched the pilot and was bored to tears. How this got a full season pick-up I don't know. Maybe it's a mercy season for all the crap Anthony Anderson has done that was canceled immediately.

that episode had me on the ground laughing. It really isn't what you'd expect given the promos and the title

This is pretty much how I feel. I didn't want to like it all because I thought it would be too over the top but it's pretty funny. The race card joke from the last episode was hysterical. When the baseball announcer said the kid was born to steal I lost it.

No, that was later on with the Nod.
Pilot was when AA got the promotion, and the son wanted to have a Bar Mitzvah like his friends.
Show has gotten better imo

Cristela is terrible. I think it's trying to be another George Lopez show (the family sitcom not the cancelled talk show), but it's not close.
