Bunch of whiny arse, insecure, inferior, poor public school principals who are afraid to play the best. Pure and simple. What we have is a watered down product. Everybody gets a trophy.

Geaux Jays.

How is select/non select based?

I definitely agree that public and parochial schools need to be separate. Totally different recruiting basis.

Agreed. It sucks. If the LHSAA hires the guy from Nevada, it is definitely staying this way, if not worse.

Just be thankful because that's the only reason y'all are sitting at home today.

Probably for proximity purposes. I know a few on both sides who want nothing to do with each other.

Actually its not fair that public schools have to work and can only get certain players while y'all can just go out and recruit whoever you want. Some publics do recruit though and get away with it but it isn't fair that you can go and recruit a bunch of D1 players while we have to build up our boys. We are hard workers while y'all go and recruit players. It makes it fair for teams who work their butts off and can't make it far enough cause they play teams like Curtis who have D1 prospects. So y'all need to get off yalls butt and come learn to work like real men. Btw, all the 5A schools still in it would beat Jesuit, except for maybe Zachary

It's especially problematic in the lower classifications. For instance Calvary has 350 kids in school from all over the Shreveport area and 85 are on the football team. While DeQuincy has 350 from a 5 mile radius and can only get 50 and 25 are 5'8 or under.

Hahnville had a d one player a few years back that lived 11 miles outside school district and in another parish

Well if you're happy Jesuit gets a shot at the title then STFU. That's a shot they wouldn't have had if there was no split.

As choke says it's a bigger problem in the lower classes. The public 5A schools along the river, Lafayette and Monroe can and have competed with the privates. Landry-Walker, Warren Easton, and Karr do well but most of the other publics in the city area don't.

Were they caught and penalized? I know of several kids who tried to come here illegally (from Jefferson and St. John because of their poor schools) who were caught by the school system and turned away.

I did say some publics do recruit and get away with it. Aka Dutchtown, West Monroe, Barbe etc

Aren't the attendance zones now the entire parish? If that's the case big help for WM and Dutchtown.

Barbe, like Lafayette high, is a magnet school. They can and do get kids from all over. Now the "school of choice" deal, while not recruiting, does tend to help some public schools I'm sure.

Because the public schools set it up to make sure they get private school money during the season but don't have to play them come the playoffs.

A buulshit talking points. You did about as much research as Dr. Griffin - which is to say zero.
