What are your opinions on each company?

I have had ATT for years, but I recently had some problems with their upgrade process. Are there really any speed differences?

my wife just moved to t mobile and she seems happy so far. we use wifi a lot so I cannot answer the speed question. I have hear a lot of people are getting at AT&T about the new upgrades and Sprint supposedly has bad service.

It seams that ATT is trying to force the ATTNext plans on people. My 130 a month Mobile Share plan will increase to 180 if we upgrade our phones.

I've looked into possibly switching because of this.

Switched from VZ to ATT through work due to lack of VZ service at home. VZ was much faster, and ATT drains my battery quicker. More coverage with ATT where relevant to me though.

Just switched to Verizon from ATT and I love it. Havent had a dropped call yet and my plan is much cheaper. (BR area)

I have T-Mobile.

Pros
They are desperate, so you can probably get a good deal
They now sell SIM cards for 10 bucks and have no problem with you using unlocked phones
Can still do unlimited data

Cons
You won't have cell service in between cities
Calls drop on the reg. A call between two T-Mobile customers can be frustrating to say the least.
You can't get some of the cool phones discounted by signing contracts. They don't do that anymore.

All the carriers are doing something similar. I've looked into switching to Verizon or Sprint and they all want to do the payment plan. I probably have the exact same plan as you, because I pay $130 for 2 phones, Mobile Share. If I do 2 year contract with 10GB, then my Mobile share discount of $20 that I'm getting right now goes away, and I have to pay $20 more a month. The two year contract makes absolutely no sense now. I want an Iphone 5S, but I'm not paying retail for a 1 year old phone.

I've come to terms that I'll probably have to by a used iphone 5s or 5 on craigslist so I can keep my current rate flat.

Fricking awesome. But, it only works on T-Mobile phones, which means you are out of luck if you want to use an unlocked phone and want wifi calling.

Not to go off topic, but what about one of those carriers like Cricket or Net10? Has anyone used one of these before?

Recently moved from Verizon to Sprint. Got an iPhone 6 plus unlimited talk, text and data for $70 a month. Not too bad...

In terms of coverage I stay mostly in a metro area so I haven't seen much of a difference yet. No dropped calls for me. Supposedly the iPhone 6 is Spark enabled so service is better than Sprint has historically been known for.

Just switched <1 month ago from AT&T to Sprint and have had a noticeable deterioration in signal/availability... JUUUST enough to piss me off, not enough to make me do anything about it.

Guys, all this I did this and I did that and noticed this and that is worthless.

You have to go to one of the websites that shows average speeds for each carrier exactly where you will be using the phone. It will show up and down speed. Hell, I can practically look at the building I live in and see the people will each carrier and the type of speed they get. Obviously, it is impacted by the towers each carrier has in the vicinity of exactly where you will be using your phone.

I mean all this other crap is useless. How can you go with a carrier when you have no idea what kind of service you will get where you are? Especially when all you have to do is go to a website and you can see EXACTLY how well each carrier works EXACTLY where you are.

T-Mobile is pretty great, their service is far better than Sprint and as fast as Verizon and ATT when in residential and city areas.

I personally have ATT-- company phone is Verizon -- parents have Sprint (was on their plan, but got my own plan and went with ATT a few years back)

between ATT and Verizon-- basically a toss up-- I prefer ATT -- some places (doctors office) verizon works better, some places ATT works better.

Overall my ranking is:

Att
Verizon

Sprint

I just upgraded to the iphone 6, but paid retail bc i didn't want to mess with my grandfathered plan that is awesome and i prefer to own the phone rather than the company.

From what I've researched it looks like ATT and Verizon are very similar.

Plan with ATT is 180 a month for 10GB for 30 months
Plan with Vzo is 172 a month for 10GB for 24 months.

Rep said that after 24 months our bill will go down to 110 if we dont want to upgrade.
